The sooner we, as individuals. stop lumping people into our worldview groups, the better. A large problem in this is how to seriously take opinions of those who have limited experience with others who do not fit into their "world view". Too many do not yet have a worthy "world view". I do NOT mean that in any derogatory way towards anyone.
As others have said and I can def. relate, understand and support their positions. Spend some time away from home in the deep south and dare I say that anyone's "world view", how we are viewed by the rest of the world, what the world expects from us, as individual Americans globally who try to represent our country, our basic values, beliefs, culture and customs regardless of party affiliation, etc. If Mitch McConnell and Sean Hannity are now (very late but better late than never) are pleading with Americans to PLEASE get vaccinated, then it seems reasonable to me that all who have followed Sean and Mitch, two of the most conservative and influential voices in the US and beyond for years.....?
Too many people are making this pandemic an "us vs. them" political and economic football, for their own vested interests. I always come to the same conclusion. I thank my country, our decision makers and medical experts when we all tried to work together and set politics aside.
I guess I am just lucky to have not contracted and experienced several diseases and THEIR side effects during my lifetime.
My father was an AU Botany / Microbiology professor for over 30 years until his death. My mom was a science / biology teacher at AHS for more than 30 years until retirement. I finally graduated with a major in zoology in 1994, within which several microbiology courses were mandatory. I would hope an explanation of what microbiology is and what it involves is unnecessary.

From football... to covid, to diabetes, to muy liberties, to abortion, to I've got the high ground (morally right/left)... and probably a couple more nonsensicals.
The point everyone is missing, at least to me, is both sides think they are doing the right thing for society. It's not as if I'm poking my finger in 33 or 32's eye for fun (not so sure about chex) and it's the same for them. It's part moral imperative as illustrated by the persistent thread length, one part they've proven to me, and another part oh no they haven't. Because that's the way it works in a free society. And now we've turned it into biological war... if the Chinese hadn't already.

Whether you like it or not we still have freedom of speech either way and if that speech offends then it does as others telling me how I have to use speech also can offend. I have a world view as I have lived in foreign countries some more left some more hardcore islamic. I support both of types of speech as it is free to speak as you like. But don't say that I need to get out of the deep south in order to see the world. I don't live in the "Deep South" and might find that offensive...see how what you said can be offensive?

...and wanted everyone to take this thing. Then I'd get the best, most educated, brightest minds in the field of immunology (from all sides), commander the evening news, and have a honest upfront discussion with the nation. Do it over several nights... it's that important. This leave it to the politicians is for the birds. As is trusting the pharmaceuticals to do the right thing.

Good post '88. Thank you for a realistic, positive approach. War Eagle. I really, really do hope that one day,, someday if and when I can get back home with my kids, that our "AU Family" is still what it once was. If it is not, then, I can't blame my kids no matter how much I try to instill into my two that Auburn.... and my family are their family. It is hard to do that from here, tbh.
