This is a big game for the team tonight. Can’t afford to lose any more to teams below us in NET. Need to hold serve at home and against the teams we should be better than.
Hopefully Hall is healthy and can get back to his normal self tonight and Road Haad comes to play. We at least found a way to win when the offense wasn’t clicking last game. Defense has gotten better in SEC play, but is time to start putting the pieces together.

I think our defense is still the worst in conference per FG percentage

Yep, I just checked and that is accurate. That is full season, and is being slightly skewed by how poor we were at the beginning of the season and our strength of schedule, but point still stands.
It looked like we’re playing better defensively for long stretches against A&M, and then followed that up with turnovers and open shots leading to the worst 7 minutes of basketball the team has played all year. Then it looked better against Arkansas, but took a step back against Missouri. South Carolina was a much better defensive effort as well, bit probably has something to do with the opponents as well.
The one thing it felt like we could rely on with this team was the offense was going to be great, but even that has fallen off the past two games. I think it’s important we get back on offense tonight, and then see if any of the small strides we’ve made on defense can stick as well.

Yeah early on we played against several teams that quite frankly didn't have to try very hard to score.

We need our best players to show up. I give SP a lot of shite for how he was hired and the lack of consistent effort but if our best players don't show none of that matters.

Any updates on Magwood?

With the upcoming games, I don't know how this team can even think of NCAAs if they don't win tonight. Could easily be 2-5 in the league after the Florida game Saturday.

Agreed. Definitely why I think this game is so important. We still have 5 more games against Ole Miss, Texas, Miss State, Oklahoma, and LSU after tonight, all of which are very winnable. Then you always hope to split against Alabama, get Kentucky and Vandy at home, and Arkansas and Tennessee are beatable although much more difficult on the road.
There are still a lot of games left and a path to a 10 win conference season, but we can’t afford to lose tonight and fall that far behind. Just have to take it one game at a time and keep trying to improve throughout the season.
