The main thing is to take the crowd out of it early. If we can put Florida on its heels we can dominate this game defensively.

If we slop around trying to deal with a crazy crowd hyped up on Game Day energy, it would get wild and crazy early.

Man, some real confident mofos in this thread. I wonder what Merlin has schemed up against our defense. Their OL hasn't looked all that great so if we can consistently pressure with 4 and cover well we may be okay. You know he's going to be dialing up some quick/over the middle passes to get Trask warmed up early.

I hope so. I'm still skeptical. I don't want to be... but I am.

This will be their superbowl so far this season. Before we get too confident, don't forget what they did to #5 LSU in the swamp last year. Not sure how many of those guys on D they return, but they were impressive in that game:

LSU wasn't that great last year. They beat us by one point on some of the flukiest bullshite penalties I've ever witnessed.

LSU had 3 turnovers to Florida's 1. Difference in the game.

Yes, and given our own turnover propensity it could also be the difference Saturday

Do you think Gus and team are overlooking the #9 ranked team? Do you think Brown, Davidson, and a few others aren’t going to be leading this team to prepare and play hard. Their OL is marginal to bad. Their QB hasn’t beat out anyone for a starting job since 9th grade. He’s all of a sudden going to tear shite up? Highly doubtful.

Florida will bring it, but our talent level this year is better. They don’t have the depth to hang with us in the second half, but I get it. It’s in the Swamp and UF fields competitive teams with talent on defense. It won’t be enough Saturday.

My biggest worry is that it is our 3rd straight week with a tough opponent. Not that we would overlook them but just hope they are up for the game... Dont come out flat.

I don’t disagree, but this team looks to be well coached, and prepared each week. They know they have a bye week following and can go all out.

That probably is my biggest worry going in. Hanging onto the ball.

We will anyway. Before I found out Florida was mind-numbingly dumb enough to schedule us as their homecoming game...

AU 23-13

After I found the above out...

AU 31-10

Also given we have a good number of players on our team from Florida we often play them well, especially in the swamp.

For numbers nerds like myself we are favored for the 1st time in this game since 1989, first time at the swamp since 1988.

I think we boat race them much like we did MSU.

- They haven't played anyone that is worth anything.
- Our team is pisssseeddddd that we are the homecoming game
- We are firing on all cylinders and watching the way guys go 100% from whistle to whistle I just feel like this team has something special going on.

This is a stone cold fact. Gus better bring his A game to this one and Bo has to play with ice in his veins for us to win.

Their crowd is going to be crazy loud for this game. Florida's defense is going to be nasty. Im feeling an old school SEC game in the making....may have to revise my earlier prediction.

17-13 Auburn (FG at the end to win it)

Low scoring defensive slugfest. We need to score first, no turnovers and get pressure without blitzing. 13-10 Auburn

How does a FG at the end to win it result in a 4 point victory?

Yeah, this game worries me for a few reasons:

1. UF is rested, has been working on us for 2 weeks and we are playing our third straight big SEC game with the previous two being very physical
2. UF is getting 7 players back this week and a couple are evidently outstanding
3. UF is a dog at home and will use it to play the us vs the world shite and it’s a position that Mullen loves to use to get his team laser focused
4. Nix isn’t going to get the time in the pocket that he had last week, I’m a little anxious to see how he handles it.
5. There is very limited amount of film on Trask and this iteration of Gator offense.

What does all this mean? The frick if I know. My gut tells me we are a bit over confident from beating down MSU and this game is going to be low scoring tight game.
