You can still Flagg the kid as being good but that's hardly equal when one has spent a season coasting downhill and the other waging war in a mans league, when beleaguered with injury and against the zebra squad every week.

That's equating all wins the same and failing to understand the hurt guy is by definition out performing the non-injured if their results are in anyway comparable.

Unfortunately for Broome he doesnt have the star power. Flagg was considered a generational athlete and a slam dunk for the first pick in the NBA draft before he ever stepped on the court for Duke. Writers want to "witness" greatness. They dont want to witness a meat and potatoes star get 18 and 11 every night on his way to playing in yugoslavia. Broome is more like Oscar Tshiebvwe or Timme than Flagg so they are willing to give flagg grace for being not so important in a shitty conference. Even the tall Gonzaga dude two years ago you could tell the media wanted him to have better stats so they could dump a ton more praise in his lap but they couldnt, so they settled for praising his potential.

Lastly, Flagg plays for Duke and the tobacco road rivalry documentary will show many UNC players say Duke gets a special pedestal just for who they are. So nothing has changed..
