I honestly can’t ever remember a game we had more passing attempts than rushing attempts in the 3rd quarter.

No it's not the first year. It's been a rule for decades. I remember Dye used it one time in the 80's. Apparently UGA has used it in recent years. Arkansas used it in their game the other night.
