50+?
40+?
Is he safe with a historic beatdown?
Would 70-0 get Gus 32 million?

I genuinely think if it was something like 66-3 he would get canned

Whatever it takes. 100-0 if it means the short bus is finally taken to the junkyard

He's safe regardless of the score, you better hope he gets caught with a kid.

several bunker insiders claimed that Gus was NOT safe if we get the doors blown off of us on Saturday.

I would have to think the decision to keep or fire him has already been made.
It's just a waiting game now

let's say we do. and say we can him.
who the heck do we get?? getting rid of him only solves half the problem. i hate to sound like a broken records, but at this point i'm not too enthusiastic about any of the names i've heard.

Do any major colleges have mostly incentive based compensation or are we just living in a “market rate” world?
To me, base pay 2.5 million.
Win division: 2.5 million bonus.
Win SEC: 2.5 million bonus
Win Nattie: 5 million bonus
So winning a Nattie would get you 12.5 million.
Going 6-6 would get you 2.5 million

I've always been a fan of incentive based contracts, you get paid bonuses for your performance and not get paid for annual dumpster fires.

Kind of, or at least it sounds that way. Some pretty conservative types who should know say that the decision is basically to keep Gus, but with the caveat that it's a rivalry game and people with influence, as always, could have an emotional reaction if things are really bad.
As for margin - I question whether this will really be defining. If we lose like 60-0 I think it'll be beyond just emotion, people will feel compelled to fire him as a way of saving face.
Other than that, I think there will probably be more chatter if we lose 27-3 doing frustrating, inexplicable Gus shite than if we lose 45-14 despite trying to run wide open and using all the tools available. Maybe I'm wrong, I just think the scoreline (unless it's historically bad) won't have as much emotional impact as watching Gus guide us to another LSU/Clemson/etc. type showing.

Why do we care if a coach leaves?
I mean IF Gus would have left for Arkansas, we still would have a team.
Any coach could go 7-5 here most years. Why pay Saban money for 8-5,7-6,9-4,10-4, and 7-4?
A million dollars per win?
We got buttfricked by Sexton.

Haven't melted since the LSU loss. I'm numb to and used to it by now. 5 years of mediocrity will do that to you. I haven't watched a game since the embarrassing Moo State loss. But whatever you say.

I understand the sentiment here and I agree.. but at some point you have to make a change for the sake of making a change. I'm comfortable saying, there is straight up no name I've heard that any of us would feel would clearly do better than Gus is right now but at some point a change just has to happen when a program is dying. We aren't at that point yet but ask me again Saturday if we lose 66-3.

Saban could have easily beaten us by 70 or more in '12 and he called off the dogs.
I don't think Saturday will be any different - in fact it won't be as bad as 49-0. Maybe more like 2011 when we kept it reasonably close for a half and ended up losing by 35.
Either way I fear that Gustav will be back, unless he gets a better offer elsewhere (and frankly, what are the odds of that happening?)

What a stupid sentiment.

If you’re this miserable, why even come to this board for football? Part ways with it until Gus is gone.
