from scarbinsky article
quote:
All the good work Chizik and his staff did in 2010, in running the table and winning the national championship, has come undone. On and off the field. The fan base he rallied so skillfully that season has turned against him, to the point that one Auburn booster said a quiet movement has begun behind the scenes to gauge and enlist support for Bobby Petrino as the next coach.

Yep. Sorry I don't believe your post has substance And by saying that, I'm not saying that any of my posts do have substance. Just simply claiming that yours doesn't.
1.You won't say your posts are substantive.
2.In your post, you claim my post is not substantive.
Question: Do you see the logical fallacy in this?
How, in the same post, can you claim that my post is not substantive, when, by your own admission, you refuse to state that any of your posts are substantive???

Also, on the new guy, I did say emphatically that nobody here knows what the frick they're talking about in terms of firing/hiring coaches. However, I'm willing to give this guy a pass until he proves to be wrong (about something other than pants stripes).
Seems fair to me. Leave the guy alone and let him do his thing.

So, a little clarification on the Fisher/Petrino bit I got:
There was a bit of miscommunication with the "Fisher probably not" - he thought I was referring to Jeff Fisher rather than Jimbo. Apparently Jimbo would come in a heartbeat, which at least somewhat falls in line with the other bit of information I was told last night.
Such is the problem with texting being the primary communication tool here.

What makes Jimbo so quick to leave FSU?

It's been posted on a message board now.
Which means it's not gonna happen.

I make fun of women when they run back to a scumbag but the leghumpers in here wanting Petrino back take the cake.
The guy is a piece of shite and we will be a total dumpster fire when he inevitably leaves here for his "next sure thing".

Get over it. He's a football coach. Yea he's a dick, who gives a shite. Morality is overrated anyway and i think it's just as likely as he stays as long as we let him than that he leaves when he feels a better opportunity for him personally comes along. Universities rarely show loyalty to coaches so why are they held to a different standered of unquestioned loyalty to a university that may fire him on a whim. And if some of you say you'll stop supporting the program if he's hired I say good. We could use a few less pushovers.

No advantage to firing Chizik before the end of the season, he coached today and met the press. Said no changes in assistant coaches and that is evaluated AFTER the season.

Has anyone heard this? I saw this on another AU board:
quote:
Chizik was fired last night... Was told the news. He was given the option to finish it out or leave. Chizik decided to stick it out. This will be made known the week after the iron bowl. The powers that be have already been in contact with some high profile coaching prospects the past few weeks and they will continue this process until they find the guy that will be awarded the job at the end of December.

No. But honestly, I can see Chizik getting another year. Sucks.
Posted on 10/21/12 at 5:35 pm to AUCE05
I couldn't. If a 3 win season and losing to Vandy and both Magnolias (plus a very down Arky team) in one season doesn't get your fired, what does???

Yeah, I'd much rather have a Mr. Rogers type at the helm.. Image is a much more important quality when choosing a coach, and not actual results on the football field
Maybe instead of fielding a competent football team, they can all join hands on the sidelines and sing kumbaya.
