I laugh when people go to an extreme to help their narrative. You see it a lot in this board.

Please link to anyone that felt Nick Marshall was Peyton Manning when it came to passing.

Just like someone claiming this board said Geriner was the goat in another thread

Or that Freeze can fix any QB.

fricking comedy

I was more of a hater of people that thought Marshall was Peyton Manning. Gus tried to turn him into a pocket passer. That wasn’t his game. Also, I was still suffering from Rose Bowl PTSD.

I mean he was the second best Auburn quarterback in any of our lifetimes.

So he was pretty good.

Dude, Marshall was way better than Jason. Way better. That offense was probably the best Auburn offense any of us have ever seen

Jason Campbell is an all time great, but give me a break from that bullshite! He had one great year, he had all the help in the world for most of his tenure, and even his great year wasnt that dominant. He was slightly more dominant than a game manager that huge year. Jason benefitted from a great defense, Aromashodu, Obamanu, a great offensive line, decent tight ends, and one of the best running back tandems to ever play the game together in college football.

And he had a "decent"defense.

Flip Nick and Jason on different teams. No way Nick operates that 04 offense effectively and no way Al comes up with an offensive game plan to take advantage of his strengths. Nick and Gus took advantage of a substitution loop hole. On the flip side Gus could tailor that ‘13 offense to JC’s strengths and it would still be pretty good.

Campbell was so freakin good in 04…hit all the big throws asked of him and Tubs called off the dogs in the 3rd quarter. One of the most accurate QBs we’ve ever seen at Auburn.

I mean Tubbs wanted to do the overly respectful thing and sit on leads all year, which hurt them big time in the BCS. Can't blame that conservative shite on Campbell.

Sure I can. Just like how I can hold against Campbell how LSU was really the only decent team in the conference back then, or how the other three years he sucked, including the loss to reggie ball. He was good but he is not “top two all time” good.
