Lanier was right.
I was hoping we could beat Vanderbilt, but hope is not a great strategy.
Like any fan, I want my team to win, and it is frustrating when we lose.
We have played bad and lost.
We have played mediocre and lost.
We have played pretty good and lost.
I want us to win, but I guess it’s unrealistic to hope we can turn things around and run the table.
Lastly, I missed the basketball banter, and will not ban bet again, mostly because I’m often wrong.

'It has been something I have state many times here. You cant bet with you heart. When I said I felt Vandy would win, it was certainly not because i wanted them to win. But it was pretty obvious we could not beat them unless we had some major improvements and that has not happened this year
They are just a better team right now with better coaching. Talent be damned.

You are not the jinx. I watched a lot of the first quarter of the game and two things stood out to me:
- first three plays were runs by Jarquez Hunter, and then five straight pass plays - CHF will not truly commit to the run
- Thorne’s passes were mostly off target, a few times his receivers bailed him out, but several badly uncatchable (and experienced SEC level DBs would have turned at least two into interceptions) - our QB play continues to be atrocious
So I went out and worked on my fence the rest of the afternoon.
