I know we have financial presentations on how NIL will impact them, ie quarterly withholding etc, investment versus spending.
With all these waivers the NCAA is handing out like candy, do you think the financial presentations will show them the benefits of the new "no tax on social security"?

Today is Wednesday February 4th.
I used to call out of work for NSD which usually occurred around February 4th.
Today we have been robbed of that extra joy that helped break the offseason into smaller windows of suck.
Never forget

I’ll always remember the days of tiger prowl and Chiz and crew absolutely loading the roster. My guy Jeff Grimes signing 5* OTs like it was nothing. The best of times.

Need to get the 5star conecuh sausage OL and DL going again…

There was a time from mid/late 00s to maybe mid 10s where NSD replaced Christmas Day as my most anticipated day of the year.

Need to remove Early Signing Day, it's not fun.

We really are all just alike
I used to skip school to watch NSD. Ill never forget the look on cyrus kouandjio's face and the empty joy I felt when he committed.

I hated yeldon too.
Trying to think who our biggest get on a signing day was, maybe Derrick Brown

Kris Frost was a surprise

Yeldon even lied to our staff for Bama, and committed to Saban during the dead period so we couldn't sign another back. Our coaches asked him about the decommitment rumors before it happened, but he just stuck to the lie and screwed us. Pickens was a close number 2 for lying to Owen and forcing our recruits to leave their commitment ceremony only to watch him choose Georgia. Screw them both. Honorable mention Brent Callaway...... Just a sad situation for those who remember it.

That retard Ruben Foster with his Auburn tattoo was a head scratcher too

I believe for the top end recruits you will see 3 or 4 year contracts very incentive based on the back end. No one wants to pay hundreds, or millions for some kid to get training, nutrition, and then bolt, it wont be worth it.
Within a few years all the top QBs will be tied to them so you wont see so much flipping. Yeah you will have a Trinidad, but not this constant churn of players, particularly as the costs rise.
Think about this as a booster, the one thing you get out of it is seeing the team excel, if you are constantly getting raped, you reinvent the model.
Pros it is totally different. Sure more expensive contracts, but there is still a profit. And the real money is in the equity you build (of which there is none for a college booster). Jerry Jones paid 140 million for the cowboys, Forbes says they are now worth 13 billion.
So if I offer you one million first year, it progresses as you hit incentives and by the fourth year you can make four million. Another team comes along and offers you 1.5 million for one year. If you take that it tells me several things:
One, you or your agent just care about money now.
Two, you have no confidence in yourself to hit the targets in the out years.
Three, its about money and nothing else.

Has to be. We didnt get many 5* NSD decisions after Cowart go our way.
Derrick Brown was great from day 1

Cowart is a good call but obviously hindsight kind of negates its importance/impact
Posted on 2/5/26 at 5:57 am to RandySavage
I melted more about Cowart on NSD than celebrated him. He committed around 9 but didn't sign until like 3pm. His HS coach tried hijacking his fax or something.
The whole day felt ominous for him.
Jang's gut always knows

He ended up being a total bust too
