3* TE Trae Proctor just committed.

6’5 215, was named “top dawg” at the Navy All American game combine. Pretty impressive tape. He moves really well for his size.

Definitely a guy that I think will be a 4* sooner than later.

Goes by Tank

quote:

The likes of Mizzou, Miami, Florida and Florida State have all also been pushing for the rising tight end. He played for Miami Southridge as a junior, but will suit up for Sunshine State powerhouse American Heritage as a senior next season. He caught 11 touchdowns in 2025.

Tank is going to be at least a 4 star, if not hugher, when all is said and done. Watch his tape. He screams. The fact we’re getting him in the fold this early really speaks volumes.

My comp for him is Anthony Mix. Big Slot. Seam beater, Inside slot fade all day

That comment tells you the story. Recruiting is going to be slow like last year until they show something on the field.

Breakdown of new Chad Simmons article with player quotes:

• Auburn still the team to beat for 4* DL Donivan Moore.

quote:

“I think the new staff is amazing, and I think big things are going to happen at Auburn this upcoming year,”

“Every coach at Auburn is recruiting me hard, especially Coach King and Coach Golesh,”

“Things I like about Auburn are the atmosphere, the campus, and just the love Auburn has for its school and community. That’s something I want to be around.

“They’re No. 1 on my list because the love I have for Auburn is outrageous.”

•4* DL Karlos May:
quote:

“I really think the new staff is very excited about what the future holds for Auburn,”

“They just seem excited to be there and are all about wanting to go win.”

“I like how Auburn is a community. Everybody sticks together, win, lose or draw. I also like the support system they have on and off the field. Auburn is definitely a top five school for me.”

•4* S Jayden Aparicio-Bailey will visit February 1 for Junior Day #2

quote:

“I love the new staff,”

“I already had a great relationship with Coach Banks and Coach ET from Tennessee.

“And now everybody in the secondary is recruiting me — Coach Banks, Coach ET (Earnest Thomas), and Coach DVD (DeMarcus Van Dyke) just texted me yesterday. I love Auburn’s campus, the environment, my relationship with the coaches, and the development.

“Auburn is already up there on my list, but that visit really determines where my head goes as I meet the new staff,”

• 4* Edge Jabarrius Garror (Alabama Commit):
quote:

“I think the new staff is great and is going to have a lot of success,”

“Coach Hutzler is recruiting me and doing a great job.”

“I like the staff, the environment and the history behind Auburn. They will compete with Alabama. Auburn is high on my list, and I love the environment and the fans.”

• 3* WR Travon Hall (Oklahoma Commit):
quote:

“Coach Kodi Burns came to see me last week,”

“He’s been staying in touch, so they’re pushing hard. I feel good about Auburn — the coaches think I can come in and start as long as I do my part.”

“They brought in some great coaches who know real ball,”

Hall could visit in the spring when his track schedule opens up and if he visits Auburn could quickly become a threat.

I respectfully disagree. I’m not sure how big our class will be but I expect it to be a monster class with top end talent. We are going to be a much bigger player in Florida than we have been in recent memory. Tennessee also. There are a ton of kids who are and have been interested in playing for Golesh but didn’t want to go to USF. There is a certain group of top end players, that USF was their first offer and now AG having gone to Auburn, very interested. Durkin Establishing a pipeline at St Frances in Maryland has paid big dividends and I don’t see why that is going to slow down anytime soon. We have hired coaches, like Wayne Dorsey recently from their program, to be position assistant coaches at Auburn. I’m convinced, if there is ONE thing this staff will be able to do at a very high level, it is recruiting and everything that goes with that

Edit: We’re obviously going to continue to recruit in state, definitely Georgia, and Mississippi heavy but what I was trying to say, is that we have way better contacts in Florida and Tennessee than staffs In recent memory

And I know some will say he hasn’t done it in the SEC as a HC but he has done enough already at the college level, to show evidences of his success and prolification.

I would expect 17-20 HS and 12-15 portal just about each year going forward outside of major coaching changes
