He refused to get back to the offense that actually worked as OC for us as well as his first 2 years as Head Coach

Yep. If something works, change it quick before the opponents figure it out. Gus was so sure he was outsmarting everyone he just outplayed himself.

My biggest gripe with him was changing that offense. I personally think it was a ego thing from the noise , from fans and others, about needing a "balanced offense". Screw a balanced offense.
If you do something good. Do that
I wish he would have spent recruiting time looking for another option/running QB other than one that could throw for 10K yards.

Short (very WAG) answer is that this team could gel and produce in some areas, but over all, the lack of OL talent will limit the team to 7 wins, tops.

Nick Marshall running the offense was beautiful. Scoring 55 points in Knoxville while only completing 3 passes for 35 yards. Just running at will.

No it didnt. There are plenty of teams successfully running a very similar offense today.
It changed when we didnt have the parts to run it. QB, LT and the correct back. The other pieces are easy to find.

Only hold is if an offensive substitution takes place. Otherwise, if my offense stays on the field, I can hurry at will.

I really like this staff as well, the amount of accountability being preached is a breath of fresh air.
