Most likely it is expanding for the celebrations where guys are actually acting like they are shooting guns, usually at the opponent/taunting type stuff. I'm generally pro letting the kids celebrate,but also probably don't need to act like we are executing the other team's player with a shotgun or spraying the crowd with a machine gun

Now, this change i'm going to be curious how it is enforced because how many times do guys do a first down signal that ends up with them pointing in the same hand gesture as you would for making a pistol?


If something like that is a penalty, frick this world.

Didn't an LSU player get tossed in the opener against FSU or USC or someone because he did a pump shotgun gesture toward an opposing player after a touchdown?

Yea, though not sure if he actually got ejected or just 15 yard penalty.
