Agree he’s done everything off the field correct. Now need some results. 8-4 with our schedule should be the expectation.

Rome wasn't built in a day. This feels different top to bottom than anything I've sat through as an Auburn fan, in a good way. Starting to think our last class wasn't a flash in thr pan, but rather could become the norm.

Don't kick me but we had a big recruiting bump in the Chizik era as well.

So how far from this are we...

We take an early high school film of Derrick Brown, plug it in an AI program to ghost all DT in college, have it spit out the top 10, hand it to the coach and say:

These guys may not be Derrick Brown now, but they will be close in a year, if they hit the portal take one of these.

Corch, I agree on the staff and the way things have evolved.
Heck the portal will have well over 3000 kids this year. And its first come first serve, so you need to have an idea of who might be hitting and an evaluation.

Lewis at OT is an obvious one. But someone was turning over rocks to find Wilfred, we were on him before he became a JC all american.

I agree with all you guys regarding Watson, relationships he has are invaluable.

I read an article once on the Pittsburgh Steelers and scouting. They had a run there for a few years where they got all these future hall of famers, all out of small schools, Joe Green, Mel Blount, Stallworth, and others.

Their success was due to a reporter in Phile I believe, who wrote articles about black football players from small, primarily black schools. The fella knew all the schools and had relationships with all the coaches. The Steelers hired him as a scout... whatever they paid him was not enough

4* TE Kaleb Edwards visits March 25-27 with his parents, according to On3. He’s a top 5/6 TE

And spring ball starts the 27th of Feb. a week from Tuesday, wow that was quick.

Question for you guys. Kids like Thompson that did not come in early, they enroll in the summer right? So they can get all the normal student stuff behind them, like setting up class, moving in, getting acclimated.

Im assuming they also get a workout planner for the summer including learning basic plays and terminology? How does that work? I know it cant be organized by the coaches on the field but just curious.

Yes spring ball starts on the 27th but only 3 practices and then they break for almost 2 weeks for spring break. Kind of a weird setup

Yes the May graduates can move in for minimesters or summer semesters as well. So they can enroll for summer if they have completed high school

Thanks Corch, what about "summer" workouts, we frequently hear that, but what does it entail from an organizational standpoint.

Do they actually get a download with basic formations, plays and terminology so they have a base knowledge of the offense. And then practice, the players on their own, during the summer?

I dont mean the whole playbook, but the basic plays, knowing many variations off each play exist.

And then video examples of how to run the play right, versus different types of coverages etc.

I hope to never hear about a TE showing off in summer workouts again

They’ll get the playbook and the players have access to the facility without the on the field coaches there. They’ll have structured S&C through the program but players can setup their own practices too. Geriner and Thorne can essentially run offensive drills and work on terminology, sets, all that

Yes they will get the iPad with the playbook as soon as they show up. They should already have training and diet instructions already

Thanks Corch.

Regarding spring, Im looking forward to the OL comments, I think it will much better.

The biggest worry is the interior DL. Hopefully a few step up AND we can pick up some out of the portal.

I would expect we try to get about 3 DL in the after spring portal. Probably 2 interior and possibly a Buck. If I’m not mistaken we a 4 players short of 85. And I expect some attrition after spring.
