I would have been cool if we kept Marshall and Dice but this day was unacceptable.

I didn't bookmark anything, but I *feel* like there were at least some folks that downplayed the importance of a good season this year, or at least around the time we talked about the Vegas odds (the discussion around if we're a 7-5 team or better).

Anyways, I'd hope nobody is disillusioned about the importance of winning next season

Where does it rank in the sec? That is what ultimately matters. We play those teams with better talent acquisition every year. That matters.

Losing Starr would put us 8-10 probably but maybe someone else can confirm that.

Auburn always gets close yet still so far. Recruiting we fall short of what we hear will happen, games, seasons, bowl games, everything. Take a step back, take off the orange and blue glasses, and you will see a pattern of close but very few cigars

Oregon has all the Nike money.

We need Tim Cook and Apple to Make Auburn Great Again.

That’s our only hope at this point imo we’re close to falling behind majorly.

We are a two hour drive from the bammers and the uglies who have won 8 championships combined this century and played in a few more. Get real, man…

it's been stated on AU boards Tim Cook has no desire to fund Auburn's NIL

I mean sure, but nobody was arguing that wins didn’t matter. The only real arguments I saw anyone making was that our pitch and class are sold on the vision and this year’s record largely wasn’t that important. Which, results show that to be the case. Doesn’t mean it didn’t matter. If we were a 9 win team, today could have looked different, but if our class differential is 3-4 spots total variance, our record this year largely didn’t make a difference, but it still has an impact like everything.

Exactly. Each have stacked multiple top classes. Was hoping to close that gap but I really do t think this gets us here.

I never offered it as an excuse or coping mechanism. It’s just the reality that the two major CFB programs next to us are on unprecedented runs of success.

Pretty sure Phil Knight has been vocal about them basically having an open tab for NIL too. He wants to see an Oregon NC before he dies

Would have to hope Starr’s offer goes up with some of the freed up Offord money.
