But are they Anime?

Seriously there was a study done over a 12 month period of just doing squats and deadlifts. The participants average arm size grew 2” in diameter around the bicep and tricep. Crazy

Crazy to think Moody is a fricking powerhouse in 5A now. And Oxford has played Clay-Chalkville.

Yep. It was a great game, but I think both teams have improved over the course of the season. I know it took Oxford several weeks to really figure out the defensive side of the ball and they have played very good for the past 4 or 5 games.

Back in my day, Leeds was the really good team of that area while Piedmont was the dominant team in Calhoun county. I believe they have moved up in classifications over the past couple realignments so they started facing better competition and kinda fell off while Anniston has had a resurgence lately.

Oxford has been solid historically, but have really turned into a very good program since they hired Etheridge. He built them into a power and won a title for the first time in 26 years. Then Oxford let him walk, stupidly, to Auburn. When he left, a bunch of kids transferred out (The Fegans kids, the OL kid that is on AU now followed him to Auburn HS, 2 or 3 more transferred to Spanish Fort and Gulf Shores) so they fell off for a year or two. Coach Adams has done a good job of building it back up. He had to play a ton of very young kids his first year or two. Britt was starting in 6A as an 8th grader. That's basically unheard of at Oxford. They have a good shot to win another title if they can stay healthy. I would really like to see Clay-Chalkville get knocked out before they could meet again, but they did handle them pretty easily last week.

Etheredge is the 2nd best coach in the state only behind Mark Freeman.

Leeds is still a powerhouse.

Hell I wouldn’t mind Freeze picking up both. Maybe Freeman as TE coach and Etheredge as special teams. I think Freeman’s system would be a great addition to Freeze’s system.

High school job probably pays the same or more wouldn't it?

Mark Freeman is the coach at Thompson has 10 state titles between 3 different schools.

Etheredge has 4 or 5 can’t remember exactly but won multiple at Leeds and 1 at Oxford and Auburn high poached him.

I am surprised we still haven't had a decommit yet. FSU, for instance, has seen an exodus of their recruits.

Hopefully the class can be held together.

A bunch of the recruits were sending out social media messages last week saying hold on we are on the way.

It’s been reported as well that the ‘25 class is really close to the players in the ‘24 class as well.

That’s not to say we won’t lose anyone but I think this class will stay mostly intact.

As of now, they all seem to get it and I’m pretty sure Freeze has been pretty upfront with all the recruits on what position the roster is in. They get it. You don’t lose an entire recruiting class and not have problems, and we were struggling recruiting to begin with.

We shall see though. Other teams will hit us hard on performance. A little positive play will go a very long way.

Probably gonna gain a few and lose a few. Wouldn’t expect a huge net loss the way things are going

I think if the class were going to implode we'd be seeing signs. Getting Duece helped alot, and I think these kids are as bought in as a group as you could hope for

No Perspective Smuck Lanier thinks our program is off the rails lol.

It's bumpy but we are still headed there. Reminds me of my POS Chevrolet Equinox. It was flashing a whole book worth of codes but when it flashed an indicator reducedenginepower I was just a praying it could make it 30 miles to a dealership. That mf had to go up mountains and shite but plodded along. Got there though! Smooth sailing from there.

Having a knee jerk reaction to this season would be the worst thing we could do

There are people still mad about Etheredge in Oxford. From what I understand, he just asked Oxfird to match the Auburn offer and they wouldn't. It was a supposedly pretty small number too. Around $10k per year. But then dropped $20 million on an indoor practice field, new weight room, and upgrades to the stadium.

Oxford is in a great place. No dominate programs in the near area. Once school choice takes hold they should be able to to recruit a 25 mile radius and dominate much of the central East so I don’t blame the boosters for upgrading facilities. As far as Keith I’m personally friends with him, I coached Camden when he was younger and now a walkon TE at Auburn. But he likes a challenge and definitely works his arse off for his players. He may not be the greatest X’s and O’s coach but mentality and physically he will prepare his teams. No team will out work his no matter talent level and they most definitely be physical and make weaker teams quit.

I look forward to him winning a championship for Auburn High, maybe even this year with Auburn splitting into 2 school systems.

JLee now has Joseph Mbatchou 6foot 4.5, 275lb DL out of Grayson now at 60% prediction. Has an official next week.

He is ranked a 4 star but I think thats mostly potential from what they are saying. From Cameron, played basketball and I believe just started playing football in the spring.

This DL/Edge class is shaping up to be one for the ages.

JLee also mentioned Zion Elee out of St. Francis in Maryland, the number one edge 2026 is coming for a visit this week or next.

You take a look at 247 rankings of Edges for 2026, like 5 of the top 7 in the country are showing some interest, with one already committed.

Certainly wont get them all but thats pretty amazing that level, and that many are showing interest in us.
