I'll shoot the messenger. I don't know what you are looking at, but Utah has more lineman in the NFL than AU. I think the highest we've finished in recruiting is 35th.
Jones, apologies.

A “special” season relative to Utah standards in one out of five years sounds like a nightmare.
Nobody thinks that’s great. Go crawl in a hole after your master forgives you.

quote:I'm not following. Are you talking BCS games maybe or players in the NFL? I think the Utah football budget is $15mm and AU is $85mm. ROI? Coarch makes silly arguments that don't measure up.

I used the pro football reference website.
You’re welcome to go find different data then where I went and prove me wrong. Instead of just blinding saying Utah has more OL\DL in the nfl.
I’ll be waiting.

Why? I used your own argument. You said Utah had a special season once every 5 years.

Clemente posted an update on the WR board:
1. Khai Prean : Auburn was heavily recruiting him but has cooled off and is looking for bigger receivers and slot receivers aren't a high priority, but if they take one he's the most likely option.
He has an OV scheduled for the Penn State game and has built a relationship with Hilliard and Trovon Reed.
2. Keyon Brown (OU Commit)- Auburn jumped on him in late May and was scheduled to visit in early June, but committed to OU before doing so, but Auburn won't quit recruiting him and trying to get him to visit this summer.
3. Malachi Riley (4* WR from Corona, CA) & Ja'Kobi Lane (3* WR from Mesa, AZ)- Auburn offered both back to back in June, but as of rn they're not top targets, but Auburn could turn up the heat later on.
4. Auburn's remaining spots will be filled by players we haven't heard about yet. He said Auburn will conduct more evaluations and send out more offers this fall.

How about Harsin’s wife and daughters posting the Usher “Watch This” gif over a tweet that says Harsin can’t recruit in the SEC. Lol acting like he hasn’t lost out on easy pickups and portal players.

We held off the recruiting melts until almost July this year. I’m proud of us!

I’m a fan of Lane. Wouldn’t be upset if we ended up with him for a longer receiver.

Neon Deion has to be our guy if you ask me. He is personable. As personable as Bruce, even. He can recruit.
He would be a gamble, but we need to gamble and the best part is there are no signs that he cannot coach a football team yet.

I'd love to have a Kyle Whittingham style program at Auburn. The talent level would have to be higher relative to Utah because we're competing in a tougher conference, but from a program culture and schematic standpoint I'm a fan.
I'd also ask how many "special seasons" we've had in the past few decades. 2004, 2010, 2013, 2017, maybe 2019? Not too far off from once every five years on average, and from the way things are trending we might be in a situation where we'll have to work to get back to even that.

you know I would be willing to give Deion a chance, however not sure if the PTB would want someone as outspoken as Deion or invest in the NIL that Deion would want to use.
Deion has been really good (borderline great) at JSU but is that because he has better talent than others, I only saw one game of his and it was when they got beat in the celebration bowl.
Lane I feel is on the decline but we will see this year.
Im a huge supporter of Harsin and wanted him to suceed I just dont see it happening now. Whoever is hired it better make a splash

I’d pay money to have Whittingham at Auburn. Dude can coach.
So are we melting the frick down? Haven’t checked the recruiting thread in a couple of weeks and the last three pages are a shitshow.

The offense thing is a matter of taste. I love the multi-TE sets and power running. Coincidentally that type of offense fits our current personnel, with the possible exception of our run blocking if the OL doesn't improve.
I acknowledged that the talent level would need to be higher. But the guy just embarrassed Cristobal's Oregon team twice and punched Ohio State in the mouth in the *Rose Bowl*. You don't want that?

I think they maybe a lot of Harsin’s problems. Shut your mouth and know your role you ain’t in Boise anymore.
Be the team mom and look after the players like Kristi did. Going to get more lip injections don’t help much in the south.
