Quotes from OT Stroh: (from 247/Caldwell)
Said Auburn’s message was that they want to win and want to win with him. Said he’s leaving feeling like he knows Auburn very well now
quote:
“It was a great visit,” Stroh tells Auburn247. “We all had a very good time. I was the only one on an official this weekend - so, I had incredible access to every coach. Thankfully a lot of the offensive line players were in town and I got time with them as well. My favorite part is always position/film review and Coach (Will) Friend did not disappoint.”
“Compared to the unofficial, this was a great continuation of what I liked the first time I came,” he says. “This time, I had a lot of time with every coach and Coach Friend and Coach Bernardi were pretty much with me the entire time. This place is a family. I loved getting to know everyone, talking football but also time not talking football. Coach Harsin is fantastic and I love his vision and focus.”

Bryan Matthews wrote an article about Stroh's visit. Here's some highlights from the article.
quote:
“Everything on all these visits is going to be important,” said Stroh. “I want to see how players act. If their love for the coach is real or if they’re just trying to get me to come here.
“Here, I felt that. I talked to some of the players and they’re really happy here. So that encourages me.”
quote:
“I had a really good time. All the coaches made a great habit of just spending as much time as they could around me,” said Stroh. “So I got to spend a lot of time talking to them, getting to know them. I also spent some time with Coach Friend and Coach Bernardi in the film room. Just having them walk me through their offense. It was great.
“Then I had a great meeting with Coach Harsin and he told me a lot about their program and what they’d expect from me if I come here.”
quote:
The staff made it clear to Stroh that the offensive line is a major area of need.
“They’re losing a lot of linemen after this year so they have to make up for that with some new guys. They said that it’s a possibility I could start early,” he said.
quote:
This weekend was Stroh’s second visit to AU this year. He attended a practice this spring.
“It’s a great town, very pretty town. Also the fans are very loyal and very passionate about this team,” he said. “I think the culture here is great. Even Harsin said it’s better than last year too. Him being here, they’re all pulling together."
Stroh will visit Florida June 3, Arkansas June 10, Texas A&M June 17 and Texas June 24. A decision could come shortly thereafter.
“It’ll probably be towards the end of June, like right before the dead period. I don’t have a date yet,” he said. “It might not be then. I might get there and not be ready. But for now, that’s the plan.”
Stroh was joined on his AU visit by his mom, dad and sister. Both of his parents attended Texas A&M.

Nathan King on 247 said it looks like we're out of the running for JUCO DT Taylor Lewis and he's not sure he'll visit anymore. He's crystal balled to Nebraska

ON3 made it sound like we just dropped him suddenly. Like he had bad grades or character issues or something.

According to a national rivals dude we still hold the edge for Brock Glenn whose real first name is Auburn.
Recruits if you want Jang to die on the hill for you that’s how you do it!

I really like DT Joshua Horton.
I agree Jones, fella moves really really well for someone his size.
Same can be said for Joseph. Question though, why did his productivity drop off last year versus the previous year, both in tackles and significant drop off in sacks.

Haven't visited this thread in months. Caught up on the last two pages. Seems like we are headed in the right direction?

We're making a lot of Top 4/5/6s, at least.

Hard to know, if we’re being honest. We’re certainly in a better spot now than this time last year. But with just 2 commits it’s hard to know where we’re really at. Haven’t missed on really any guys yet and with most of the conference at 5 or less commits, it’s kinda clear that kids are waiting longer and longer now.
We’re probably gonna have 20-30 June official visitors (including Stroh and McElderrly that are visiting late May). Hopefully we can shake out some commits late June once those are wrapping up and kids make decisions.
QB - looks like Brock Glenn
RB - Cobb seems like a real possibility. Looks like we’ll miss on Robinson, though
WR - no clue. Definitely the weirdest position recruiting wise so far. Karmello English, Nakai Poole, Khai Prean are guys to watch
OL - 4* Bradyn Joiner on board. Tons of options there with a few guys that could even be leans (4* Wedin, 4* OT Ramil). Wilkin Formby, Stroh, Vysen Lang, McElderry, Geffrard, Lew, just a ton of guys in play there.
TE - they’d be thrilled with just 4* TE Jelani Thurman
Defense is even harder to pin because there are even more guys that could be options
In the defensive backfield-
Already have 4* Love on board. Does Hurley flip? Mitchell is showing actual interest now. Auburn likes Kayin Lee, Ethan Nation, Dakaari Nelson, and Avery Stewart among many others
LB - Troy Bowles, Jaiden Ausberry, Lewis Carter, Stanquan Clark, Dee Crayton are all 4* guys Auburn is getting officials from. No idea how to narrow that down yet based on what’s known.
DL - Same story as LB. Brumbaugh has the interest of 20-30 4* DL guys. Absolutely loaded class regionally and I can’t begin to really narrow it down. We hear about a new guy almost every other week

Correct me if I’ve reading this right.
Even though we don’t have a lot of commits and most schools are under 5 anyway, we are getting to be in their top 4-10 and unlike last time so many more kids in tge positions we desperately need.
So even if some of the early commits go elsewhere there will be still a lot of good ones we are in on that will then commit to us, hopefully providing w quality and numbers.

We’ve definitely made a ton of Top X lists. Those are good to see early on. But ultimately need to land them
There’s no ranking for top lists

New Dukes scoops here's a rundown:
Dukes posted that a source close to Brock Glenn said Auburn's been doing an excellent job recruiting him and Auburn is his leader as it currently stands and Auburn feels good about adding him to the class. Mississippi State and TCU seem to be the other schools in contention.
C Rob has been pushing hard to get 4* LB Dee Crayton in the 2023 class. He and Schmedding evaluated him in person and from what Dukes heard Crayton showed intensity, toughness, and leadership during the practice session they saw.
Clemson appears to be the biggest threat with them hosting OVs for the first time in June since Dabo's been there which is a huge deal to Crayton and he adjusted his schedule to be in attendance.
It was once thought Auburn ran third behind Clemson and Penn State in his commitment, but Auburn seems to have pulled even and has a legit shot at landing him. Crayton is said to value stability, environment, and scheme as things that are important to him in his recruitment.
Auburn's spring evaluation tour titled "Tiger Takeover" has paid dividends in a big way with a heavy emphasis on AL and GA.
Dukes spoke with one HS coach who felt Auburn visiting him was huge cause Auburn's not recruiting any of his 2023 players.
"They (Auburn) showed me they are really trying to lay a foundation. My 2023 class may not have what they are looking for at this time, but knowing they still wanted to evaluate our team as a whole was a big deal to me. I know they like some of our younger players and them taking the time to come see us even though it may not pay out immediate dividends was a class look in my book."
5* CB Jahlil Hurley seems to be trending away from Auburn. After visiting a few weeks ago against Bama's wishes and looking like he'd flip, Saban got personally involved by giving him a call and was adamant he stay in their class and T-Rob has turned up the heat and it's not looking good for us anymore.
Dukes asked a source with knowledge if he should flip his crystal ball back to Bama and was told to wait until Auburn finds out if he'll OV.
If he does it would say a lot since Bama wants him far away from here. Dukes posted that Auburn knows how close they were to flipping him and have not given up hope.
