Hahaha ok fair, but you would not believe how often I got asked if I went to school at Mountain Brook up there just because I was from Birmingham. There’s levels to this.

KN learned that Auburn may be close to offering 4* DE Gavin Hill. His coach says Auburn has a legitimate shot of landing him if they do.

If we are reaching down to Gavin Hill that means it isn’t looking good for the studs in state and in Georgia.

Not good and no way to spin it. If we end up with Hunter Oabourne and Gavin Hill as 2 of our DL in the class it’s a enormous swing and a miss. Osborne is good and works hard but isn’t at the level of the other highly rated DL in state. Just being honest.

I think that’s part of why Auburn hasn’t offered yet, to be fair. I think they still like where they’re at for some of the in state guys. That said, your point stands.

Of the current top 10 per 247: Only Osborne, Faulk, and Russaw remain realistic options for Auburn. But that’s also the 8-10 guys and they’re gonna be real battles

The 11-20 is more unknown and I think Auburn is in good shape potentially for a lot of them. We’re gonna need the high end guys eventually. This was an incredible in state selection this season and Auburn might not land any of them that are in the top 100. That’s bad news

One of the only upvotes I've ever given on this site (I don't do the downvotes either)

Curious if anyone on any of the pay sites have heard the name Mason Short. He's a local guy, 2025, but he's blowing up lately and just got an offer from UGA and is visiting Bama this weekend I believe.

I'm still waiting for us to offer this local WR too, Malik Leverett ('23). He's only a 3 star on 247, but his film is way better than that. I talked about him a bit on here before and he was one of the top WRs int he state last year. I think Ga Southern might be the leader for him now just because his QB is going to play for them this year and Helton has actually done a solid job recruiting for them so far. And as far as I can tell, the only WR we really seem to be in it for is Karmello English. There might be other names, but he's the only one I've heard about consistently and we need like 3 or 4 WRs this year imo.

All of the on the field coaches will be starting a Tigers Takeover today.

According to JGT, their goal is to visit all of the high schools in the state within the next two weeks. They already have on schedule 50 stops in 11 different counties.

This is what I like to see. I'm sure coaches and players around the state will like it, too.

We are Auburn. We will always have to work twice as hard to keep up with everyone else, but when we do, we're right there with the best of em.

I just hope they are taking the white, stretch limos. And wearing the Hawaiian shirts. Top 5 class incoming!

Coaches are in Georgia and Florida too

Some other notes from 247:

5* CB Tony Mitchell will visit this weekend. Zac Etheridge is doing work

3* DT Joshua Horton will announce this summer. Auburn is in a good spot here. He’s one of 4 Langston Hughes HS guys that Auburn is in on. He’s by far the least polished of the bunch. Plays DE in HS but he would play inside at Auburn. Huge frame and not a lot of bad weight. IMO, he look like an OT.

Dukes put in a CB for 4* CB Avieon Terrell to Auburn. His brother is AJ Terrell, 1st round pick out of Clemson. Auburn has quietly been recruiting him hard and he’s close with recent commit 4* CB Terrance Love

I haven't forgotten lol. But we need to make up for the goodwill that we've lost in the last couple of years, especially if this in-state class is as good as everyone says it is.

No doubt we have to work Georgia and Florida hard, too. That's part of what I meant by working twice as hard as everyone. It just comes with the job.

I wasn’t commenting on your statement. Mostly just adding on to Janga’s You we’re spot on, IMO
