What a name....

Seems like we have brought the whole Fairburn Ga football team over for a visit...

Nice left handed deep release....

I’m gonna have to consult with JVILLE and see if he wants to tag team the board with our support for Prentiss Air Noland in 2025 season

His name already screams shoe deals.

Kirby visited his school recently.

I assume UF offered him? That's sucks but I think his whole family are over-the-top Gator fans/alums so Gainesville it is. Jacksonville is only about an hour from Gainesville too.

Helluva an arm and accurate. Even that second pass in the video he’s running and flings downfield accurately while running.

How about some of the WR’s he was throwing to, can we have them too?

I dont think that hurts us, given the number of dbs we signed, and exodus of dl through the portal, we will just run a 2-9 versus 3-4.

Im kidding, it is quite frustrating to "find" these kids, offer, they blow up....and sign somewhere else.

I'd be pissed if it weren't for the UF circumstances with him and his family. As it is I'm not terribly upset other than its one less body on the DL. In 2023 we'll need probably 4+ OL and 4+ DL coming from HS, and 1-2 more of each from the portal. IDK if it was planned but it may be fortunate we took so many DB's this cycle. In 2024 we'll also need 4 OL and 4 DL and that will hopefully fix the shitty prior roster management and current portal attrition.

Agree.

That pattern of recruiting results will not get us where we want in recruiting rankings.

You have to have at least 1 recruiter killer on offense and defense.

We may not have one on the offensive side except for Caddy. And now we may not have one for the DL or LBs t he are seal dealers.

We also didn’t discover the kid. He was committed to Minnesota around the time we offered

I’ll echo the frustration, still. More desirable than Minnesota but less desirable than UF is not a spot we want to live in

Etheridge and Caddy appear to be really good recruiters. TBD on Brumbaugh and CRob. CRob has a reputation for recruiting well at UF

Didnt realize Minnesota had offered. Ya gotta be happy for the kid. He busts his arse for years, has dreams and is offered MN a 1000 miles from home.....then his dream school an hour down the road offers. Emotional roller coaster for certain, with a good ending.

I often wonder what constitutes a good recruiting coach and success, look at Alabama. Saban certainly would not win any Dale Carnegie awards, and his staff rotates regularly, yet no one can argue their success. I can only think of a couple of coaches that would visit me that would get me truly fired up to play for them.

Bruce Pearl is one, heck he could talk to me about paint drying and have me painting my house that afternoon!

The other would be Bobby Bowden, rest his soul. When I did a stint in NO, we were unpacking the house with the TV on and the news had a clip with Bowden, preaching at a local church. The wife said "The FSU coach is preaching in NO?" I said no he is cruitin those mamas. I miss his teams, and him, dadgumit.

I think its reasonable to assume AU didn't have their ducks in a row with the NIL compared to other top SEC programs. I can also see our compliance depertment waiting for other programs to jump in the water first. My thinking is that having a staff full of recruiters will not be as important with the NIL, but who really knows. I didn't forsee the NIL as it stands or the true impact of the portal (free agency).

After Wednesday I’m going to start the 2023 thread.

Pyburn is likely headed to UF. Not sure on Farmer and Citizen is also a coin flip. No recent intel suggest otherwise

Question since we are losing our OC.. are our 2 transfer QBs already enrolled? I believe they are, but I'm not 100% sure.

They have to be enrolled. Auburn’s deadline passed a week or two ago. It’s the biggest reason why Hopper wasn’t an option unless he wanted to enroll after the Spring

Calzada and Ashford were both introduced at the game on Saturday, so they're here and taking classes.

Calzada was also celebrating with the football team at the UK game, however he wasn't brave enough to go shirtless with the others.

Thats what I thought. Plus the pics of them at the games. Just making sure they are stuck here and can't leave lol.

To their dismay, they’re stuck. It doesn’t sound like Calzada is a happy camper
