We're such a disappointing recruiting class though aren't we?

I don’t know why you feel like this is a gotcha moment.

Why would my answer change? We knew about the Oregon DL when I stated that. And I expected to possibly get 2 more 4 star OL

I think the 23 class is going to be top 10 for sure. Will start off right with Joiner and Sylvester Smith has been waiting for the go ahead to commit.

Nothing special about it. Might be decent as a group but not sure on difference makers outside of the QB

Wonder if they will then move Wright back to OL?

Something else that could change within the program is where lineman Jeremiah Wright plays in 2022. Last season as a true freshman the former Selma High School standout played on the defensive front.

Jeremiah Wright is shown at Auburn's Christmas Eve practice at Hoover High School where he was working out with Offensive Line Coach Will Friend's OL Group.
Wright is redshirting this season while recovering from ACL surgery. He is currently practicing with the offensive line group and making progress on the health front. Harsin said that it is still to be determined what side of the line of scrimmage Wright will play on as a redshirt sophomore. “He is a good defensive player,” the head coach said.

God I hope we aren’t. We have 5 or so more spots and 7 transfers we can fill so basically half a class to go. So I hope for sure we aren’t done.

Scouring the HBSUs for some talent. I remember when the Steelers dedicated a headcount specifically for this purpose and ended up finding a few unknowns like Joe Greene, Mel Blount, and John Stallworth, not a bad place to look for some seniors over the next couple of years while we patch up the line and allow the younger fellas to develop.

Question for the board, do we expect a lot of P5 players to hit the portal after the bowl season? Probably why we are not hearing a lot about offensive linemen at this point? And probably why we are being so picky?

We aren’t limited to 7 transfers. Those (up to) 7 additional scholarships can be used on transfers, HS, or JUCO. And we still have to fit it under the 85 too FWIW
