I think the offense during the season didn’t give him the warm and fuzzies. Because ever since we we started playing football games it became less and less certain he’d sign

It should make him feel warm and fuzzy that he could come in and be the #1 guy from the start.

I think places like Bama and UGA have shown that early playing time isn’t the factor that we tend to make it out to be 
I think it matters. Everything gets weighed but we keep seeing kids choose competition and winning over playing time

Because if it's Austin Davis as expected, his team still has games to play this season vs. a recruiting dead-period coming up here in the NCAA. "Announcing him" now doesn't really do anything, and that news could be relayed to the recruits directly from Harsin himself.
Most NFL coaches finish out their seasons before taking other jobs. In this case, it's not like we could send Austin Davis out to recruit or anything even if he was hired today.

Keionte Scott picked up 4* ratings on ESPN and Rivals so he should get an adjustment in the composite. Which is important for the class rankings. Scott hasn’t been adding points for Auburn in the class calculator due to the composite rating not showing up

The thought though is waiting till after signing day to have an OC. Recruits can be sold on Harsin’s offensive philosophy and we have a vacancy that allows Trovon Reed to off campus recruit. Apparently recruits love him especially the Louisiana kids we’re going after.

Today, that 20 would put us at #9 in the composite, 4th in the SEC. These are just the guys that the paysites are most confident in. Unfortunately, M'ba may sign on Wednesday but not count until Friday when he announces.
However, as you may notice, there are a lot of guys still on the board:
