Same here, I thought they had permanently damaged their program, then they pulled Saban out of Jimmy Sexton’s arse at the last minute.

I remember thinking, damn, he’s gonna be better than Stallings in a couple of years - then that bastard ends up being better than fricking Bryant. And he’s still doing it 15 years later

Winning football games in a pitiful third rate conference does not mean that a guy can replicate the same results in the SEC.

True but doesn't answer the question.

Hence, why do I keep seeing Deion Sanders name?

He hasn't accomplished shite in a third rate Division.

Dont forget that Saban was Mal Moore's guy. As AD, Moore had a lot of clout and Im sure he cleared the way for Saban to operate with let resistance from the AL PTB. Who at Auburn would have that kind of power to clear the way for a Harsin or any future AU coach?

Saban was Bryant Junior’s pick. Moore was told to go get him. Junior IS and WAS the power broker. During Dye’s run we had Lowder. Now we have two Harbert and Rane which do not always agree, powerful men with huge Egos. It was Harbert that brought us Leath (Fact).

Auburn HAD to investigate. When and how it was leaked caused the problems.

That’s another disingenuous lie by my covidforever brAUther. He has won just as much in his third rate conference as Harsin did on his cartoon field. He can also recruit the snowman to Florida for the summer. Move along now

Deion Sanders was hired by the program as head coach in September 2020, going undefeated in conference play at 8-0 in his first season. Jackson State won the SWAC (Southwestern Athletic Conference) for the first time in nearly a decade. Overall, he had an 11-2 record in 2021. It was the school’s first winning season since 2013.

It was his own argument that if he can win in the third rate conference of blue field that must mean he’s a good coach. Why doesn’t that apply to SWAC?

Saban

I wonder how much different his tenure at Alabama would be if he hadn't been hired at the exact moment our boosters decided to starve the program to get rid of CTT. They got everyone instate those first two years including a few Auburn locks. Seems like we are in a similar phase now.

This isn’t true at all. Boise plays a FBS schedule. JS is a very good HBCU that plays a FCS schedule. No matter how much you hate a blue field won’t make what Deion is doing on the same level as what Harsin accomplished so far.

Now, I am not arguing against Deion but correcting your error of information. Deion is turning JS into premiere HBCU and FCS program. He has appeal because it’s obvious he can recruit and coach. Does that mean it will translate well into the highest levels of CFB? I have no doubt some team will give him the chance to find out.

I’m on record as saying Bryan Harsin had one of, if not the, best resumes entering his Auburn HC tenure.

That being said, Deion Sanders is showing how well he can recruit and develop players, while also putting together a really good staff.

He would hit an absolute gold mine for recruiting in Auburn, AL. Florida recruiting would especially improve. I mean, he got the #1 recruit in the nation to Jackson State. Not to mention he would be able to get guys in via the transfer portal to restore the roster if Bryan Harsin was fired. He’s even gotten guys to transfer to Jackson State that would’ve gone to another FBS school if he wasn’t there.

I just like his potential as a CEO type HC.

Next time I’m going to hear Arky State was big boy football too. Except instead of playing Portland state, we are talking about powerful Southern Miss.

Yeah I wish the SWAC participated in the FCS playoffs so we could see how he does against better FCS programs.

He won the SWAC despite people saying he hadn’t won shite.

I can pull up many singular anecdotal games that might prove Haskins doesn’t belong here

Didn’t you guarantee Calzada would start? How’s that going for you?

I didn’t mean big 5 I meant FBS school. They are a MW school. So you’re right.
