I wish I was blessed with perpetual negativity so I wouldn't be disappointed should we lose. Oh well, I guess that is the cross I must bear.

The positigers melt more than anyone on here. If you don’t have the same exact hive mind as them, they cry. If I wanted that bs, I’d be posting on AU Family. Bottom line is, everyone wants Auburn to win big. That’s why we’re all here.

Auburn did everything to give that game away last year. I don’t see them coming to Jordan Hare and leaving with a win. The question will be, does Auburn squeak out a win or look dominate? If they dominate Penn State, we might be in for a very nice season.

You all have been in constant melt mode since last season, so that is incorrect son.
Someone talks positive and negatigers have to bring in wait till the reality sets in.
But keep saying it Barry, eventually it might become true.

I sure hope so, it's just we go about things differently I guess. I am in sales and I am not built to to think negatively when I am trying to win a deal. I go in with extreme confidence. Do I still lose deals? Yes and it's disappointing, but then I move on. I don't go in thinking I will lose just so I won't be disappointed.

True. And someone talks about different players, and positigers swoop in to cry about the coaches know best! Do not question! REEEEEE!

When did I jump in and say coach knows best when someone talked about different players?

I didn’t say you specifically. I just used it as an example of some of the posi melts.
Well, I’m in PR. So I deal with crisis communications a lot. It’s my job to think of every little thing the Karens of the world will throw out negatively, and proactively message accordingly.

So NegaTiger on man, while the rest of us enjoy watching football this season.
I’m no nega, I’m realistic. I went into this thread expecting QB position being a big factor into the season with an inconsistent QB probably going to bring about an average 8 win season. Well Calzada probably isn’t even that guy now, so I’m just dialing it back.
The way I see it is Calzada was brought in to be head and shoulders above the rest and now he has proven to be in the middle of the pack. He could start now but it’s not because of his camp. It’s because nobody else deserves to start either.

Yeah, I never face objections or negative situations as a salesman, it is just gobs and gobs of rainbows and lollipops.

Being positive doesn't make one unrealistic. I bet you can find several of my posts bringing up the same deficiencies of our team, especially during the season.
I am in no way comfortable with our QB's, WR's, or OL. Realistically we probably win 6-7 games this year with the schedule we have. All I have is hope we surprise some folks and pull out an 8-9 win season. Is 8-9 acceptable? Most of the time no, but I will consider other factors as well.
I just don't spend all year pounding that message. It's well known and repeating incessantly will not make it go away, but I get it's a part of discussing the team right now.
Each thread here turns into a shite show, and maybe that's just the expectations we can expect from our group here. It can make it interesting for sure. I have helped turn some of them into a shite show (oops, there's some reality slipping through my positive demeanor).
I am betting if most here spent time at a tailgate before a game, we would find we have more in common than we do here behind a keyboard and monitor. Hell, we might even find each other a decent person.

Auburn is starting TJ Finley at QB, we have brand new G5 level coordinators.
If the offensive line is improved, then I think we will be in the game, but it’s hard to win when you have the inferior coaching and QB(s). Clifford for PSU isn’t amazing but he’s been there a long time and won’t give the game away. Can’t say the same for Finley.

Not so sure on Finley and PSU. Everyone seems to think the competition will carry over.
Is it outdated thinking to say that's a recipe for disaster? Obviously we don't have a good history of bouncing around with QBs, but perhaps there are plenty of recent non-AU examples where changing horses still got programs to good overall results.

Slight hijack maybe but in the vein of QB coaching: I've heard Mike Hartline's name mentioned several times over fall camp and directly from Harsin in talking about former QBs on the staff. He is listed as just an analyst but it sounds like he's been pretty hands on. Is he one of the on field coaches?
I know he comes from a football family and his brother is absolutely killing it at OSU as their WR coach.
