I was getting worried about Brooks as well. Generally around this time of the year no news isn’t great news. I really think we need him to work out.

We are them bro, there’s zero positive outlook. I seriously hope all the reports are smoke and mirrors and we set the world on fire, but I got a sneaky feeling I’m going to be perched in a tree stand more often than not this fall.

I'm looking forward to going to Athens and wrecking shite! This is 1971/Amazins all over again.

I love your optimism. War Eagle!

Yeah. I hope he's right but I have serious doubts that you can still win in modern football playing smash mouth football. My one hope is that year two in the system can make up for some of what I believe are downgrades in talent

Legit concerns. I suspect you could with elite talent, but not with how we are recruiting

Look at Ludwig and what we do at Utah. Our outside skill players should be lineman. But we get things done.

Pre scrimmage warm ups
Taken from a good aspect for names and numbers, nothing earth shattering, but good for sizes, shapes, and conditioning. TJ did have a nice snag on a bouncing ball, actually surprised a bit at his reflex's. He physically looks better than last year.

We play a different schedule and level of defense. It doesn't matter though because we're not going to play that style anyway. Our success imo will be determined by whether we can throw and hit enough big plays to keep defenses from crowding the box and staying healthy at key positions.

A lot can change in 30 years.

This is a new era in football. You have to have defense to win, but you better have elite athletes on offense, at least a decent QB and a great OC. Auburn has…none of that.
Georgia had the best defense in CFB last year and Alabama still took them to the woodshed in the SECCG.
…and Auburn doesn’t have a defense nearly as capable as Georgia or a DC close to Kirby Smart or whoever he hires as DC.

UGA showed you can, you just have to have an all world defense with nfl talent at every position
I’m with you, I think our offense ends up only being as good as our ability to hit the occasional big play through the air. Not much optimism that happens, but if it does I think we become respectable on O.

Pass some of that Alpine flavored ganja this way. I need another hit of whatever you’re smoking bro. I may actually be pumped by Mercer game.

Shocking considering how long the playoffs have been a thing and how many teams have played in it.
Stupid take.

Our defense will be our strongest hand this year. It won’t be elite but good enough to keep the game close unless the offense rolls over. Defense wasn’t elite last year either. It was a mixed bag with the State game being the low point.
I overwhelmingly agree with TT here. Modern day football requires the offense to score at least 24-28 points to secure wins.

This is actually senseless when comparing importance of offensive vs defense.
