That Finley throw, y’all.
Supposedly Dylan Brooks put out some 1v1 and some 2 v 2 videos that led to our OL getting shredded in the comments so he deleted the video.
At least we know Dylan is having a good camp.

FWIW, JGT still says none of his sources have heard anything about Calzada being injured at all. The coaches haven’t hinted that he’s still being bothered either. Sounds more like Calzada is who a few of us thought he was. There are a few others like Pettifogger who wanted ZC to do well without being shite posters and they’re okay by me. The QB position is a game breaking position and it’s acceptable for people to want the most upside.
Unless Ashford is another Narshall ZC is still probably the highest upside pick on our roster. Finley on the other hand is probably the highest floor. I’d like to see the betting lines once Finley is named starter. If they are lowered then the perpetual O&B fans have no reason to not put their money where their mouth is.

From JGT at this mornings practice
He also says Holden Geriner has been the most accurate today.

Also, I watched the QBs miss 11 consecutive throws at a target at a distance of 7 yards. I cant believe this.

From some editor for the Plainsman:
quote:
The team is crowded in the middle of the field, and they just erupted in cheers. The stadium announcer told the crowd that sophomore linebacker Jake Levant has been awarded a full scholarship.

God damn it. I hope Harsin gets another year after this cuz it’s clear we don’t have a great QB yet. Maybe next year..

Practice notes by Stultz:
quote:
Auburn went through 12 sessions of practice this afternoon in Jordan-Hare Stadium. Most of the work was on individual drills and special teams, but we did get to see 2 sessions of 7-on-7.
Here are some observations:
- The quarterbacks showed some inaccuracy early on but settled in. The rotation was T.J. Finley, Robby Ashford, Zach Calzada and Holden Geriner. Calzada did get 2nd-team reps during 7-on-7 and then threw an interception right to Jake Levant in double coverage.
- Tank Bigsby was out there taking part in all drills. He and Jarquez were rotating.
- Dylan Brooks looks thin and narrow according to the Commodore. Morris Joseph got some good reps.
- Nick Brahms and Cam Stutts were not participating. Tate Johnson was taking 1st-team reps at center with Avery Jernigan getting 2nd-team reps.
- Brandon Council was at left guard. Keiondre Jones was right guard. Austin Troxell at right tackle. Kilian Zierer at left tackle.
- Defensive line was working on getting off blocks.
- All of the defense took part in tackling drills.
- D worked on prevent defense, knocking the ball down. Jaylin Simpson stood out.
- First-team defense: Marcus Harris, Jayson Jones, Derick Hall, Colby Wooden, Owen Pappoe, Cayden Bridges, Nehemiah Pritchett, Donovan Kaufman, Jaylin Simpson, Morris Joseph, Zion Puckett
- Owen Pappoe was doing some 1-on-1 work with Schmedding along with Robert Woodyard Jr.
That's all for now. We are set to speak with Harsin here in a few.

Harsin notes by Stultz
quote:
- Since I have known him, Jake has done a great job dealing with his off the field responsibilities. Harsin didn't let anyone know that it was coming for Levant's scholarship.
- Today was a day to correct and review from the scrimmage yesterday. Doing a little conditioning. A team activity tomorrow and some meetings. They are off on Monday and then Tuesday they start preparing for the season.
- On scrimmage yesterday: "I thought we started slow. It wasn't just the quarterbacks. That's a credit to the defense." Says what we want to see from the QBs is operation.
- TJ did some really good things situational wise (managing clock) in scrimmage. Robby made some plays, staying in the pocket and throwing or running. Zach moved the chains and scored a touchdown. "They all did some positive things that we need to see from them."
- Defense came out and played well. First group particular.
- It was an OK day from the special teams yesterday. They got better today.
- They worked on red zone, two-minute and a little bit of goal line offense/defense during scrimmage.
- "Too early to tell." - On naming a starting quarterback. After team activity on Sunday, the staff will sit down and see where they are at. "We are looking at other positions as well." Whatever gives the team the best opportunity. Has to look at travel squad, who is playing on special teams.
- The final decision for QB will come at the end of next week.
- Conditioning should come during practice. They ran a little bit after practice today because it was a slow day.
- On Nick Brahms: Nothing new. Waiting and seeing where he is at. Let him settle in a little bit, heal up and make a final decision.
- Needs to improve awareness. Running on the field, getting the play. That is one area he says they need to improve before first game. "If you run on the field, you should look to the sideline to get the call. If it is 4th and 2, you are going to play it different than 2nd and 5."
- Used lessons from high school games he saw last night for team. Ex: having 10 players on field and having to use a timeout...

Right… how many chances has he had to land a great qb so far? He got a good freshman, but rarely do freshman play

Havent heard from Brooks since he got here a year and a half ago, good to see he is filming practice, perhaps he could start practicing?

QB - bit's and pieces from today.

Really good chance we are trash this year… at least on offense…. And in modern football you’re gonna lose a bunch of games if you can’t score.

quote:Congrats on reading the same practice reports as everyone else and having your edgy opinion. When is the last time you stepped foot in Auburn?
Sounds more like Calzada is who a few of us thought he was.
You'd think Auburn Football is the New York Jets with all the negativity.
