When does the World Cup start?

Caddy Williams notes by B Matt
quote:
Spoke to Cadillac Williams for about 20 minutes….
** Loves his group and how they’ve performed in camp so far. He’s trying not to heap on too much praise but it’s pretty clear he likes the talent and depth and how they’re working. He also really likes the competition for all the spots.
** I asked who was most improved and he said Tank Bigsby has taken a big step forward. His approach, attention to detail, leadership and work habits have all improved.
** Cadillac praised all of his backs and said the competition is close. Jarquez Hunter is a workout warrior, Sean Jackson has been real consistent and Damari Alston has a ton of maturity and drive for a freshman.
** He also talked about the team overall being player-led, self-motivated and accountable to each other. He said that’s a recipe that every championship team he’s been a part of has.
** Caddy also joked how Tank and Jarquez told him if he was a player now, he would be on the bench behind them.

November. We play England on Black Friday. Gonna be one of the greatest days in sports for a while with all the different sporting viewing options we will have.

Just a few Will Friend notes by Stultz
-
quote:
Austin Troxell is moving around the best since Friend arrived. He's feeling more comfortable and can play both sides. More on this later.
- Tate Johnson and Cam Stutts continue to improve daily.
- Kilian Zierer is getting better, but, per Friend, is still green when it comes to other teammates in playing football.
- He loves his guys having to battle Derick Hall, Eku and the rest of the D-line and EDGE because it makes them go at full speed every snap.
I think the OL will be above average and servicable. Not great, but good.

Finley. . . Calzada
The only thing he's done with any sense of urgency is leave LSU and get a store front on Amazon. It's hard to describe 6'6 and near 250 as dainty; however somehow he manages to pull it off with negative yards rushing and no fire to push/lead anyone. He was 50/50 wins/losses at LSU (in 8 games) and 5 losses of 5 here last year. For a winning percentage of ___ (it'd be hurt to list and you'd claim I was picking on him).
You see an SEC caliber QB in there somewhere?

In Their Own Words: Quotes of note from Auburn's offensive assistants
quote:
OL COACH WILL FRIEND
quote:
On offensive line making progress
quote:
“The first couple of days of camp they were not. The last two days they have progressed and practiced better. They have the ability to do it. They have to be sound fundamentally. They have to be sound on assignments and play like hell on Saturday. If they do that, they have a chance. If they are off a little bit, they won’t do it. If they do those three things, they can succeed in this league.”
quote:
On offensive line starters
quote:
“There ain’t a starter yet. There is nobody in that room that is a starter yet. We have 20-something practices left before we play our first game. There has to be some separation, but we’re not there yet.”
quote:
TE COACH BRAD BEDELL
quote:
On challenge of playing tight end
quote:
“It’s hard at the start. Really, when you look at tight ends around the country, you have to communicate with the O-Line. The next play you have to be on the same page with the quarterback and understand the wide receiver concepts. It takes a lot of study and a lot of demand.
“Development of tight ends can be a little bit slower than other positions because you have to know everything – every formation, shift, every motion. Then you have your route concepts. And then all of a sudden you have your run game concepts. It’s a lot of studying.”
quote:
On the mental side of college football
quote:
“It’s extremely hard. What are their study habits? Do they love the game of football? If you don’t love it, you’re not going to learn it. You can learn whatever you can in a 40-minute meeting, but if you don’t relook at it, you are starting from zero the next day.”
quote:
RB COACH CADILLAC WILLIAMS
quote:
On running backs’ progression
quote:
“Oh, man. I am very optimistic. Trying to not give them too much praise, but those guys are bought in. From winter conditioning to spring ball to summer and carrying over to camp, you have guys leading with Tank (Bigsby) and Jarquez (Hunter). Young guys are working, and they are bought in. I am just excited to see what comes about.
“The more guys I can get in that room that are like-minded, that aren’t selfish, that are going to put in the work, going to put in the dirty work, going to grind and love each other but at the same time are going to compete and want that No. 1 spot, the better we’ll be.”
quote:
On Tank Bigsby’s improvement
quote:
“You were blessed with that,” Williams said. “The thing that is going to sustain you and help you reach your potential is the small things. Sometimes, really, really talented players neglect those things. With Tank and with his maturity, he has gotten better on that. He thinks like a pro. He watches film. He studies. Then just serve, and just be there for your teammates.
quote:
On Jarquez Hunter’s work and practice habits
quote:
“Jarquez is a machine.”
quote:
WR COACH IKE HILLIARD
quote:
On freshman Cam Brown
quote:
“His frame is something that's going to be welcomed here. We're going to try and maximize his playmaking ability.”
quote:
On Landen King’s move from tight end to wide receiver
quote:
“He adds something to the wide receiver room that we didn’t have. He’s extremely talented. We want to find ways to get him more involved. He’ll have to learn more about the position as we go along here. But his size and skill set are going to help expand what we do on offense.”

Bro Cam Brown is getting hyped tf up and I love it
Posted on 8/11/22 at 5:53 am to AU_251
He is getting a lot of praise from Ike regarding his work ethic and maturity. He may not factor much this year but the ceiling is the roof for him.

Jang, you cant hype current players only past players or rockymtn will get mad.
Love the praise our WRs are getting I feel Ike was a great hire and hopefully the room will improve. I also feel that by the end of the year our FR WRs will be pushing for starting roles.

I don’t think Rocky was saying that lol. But keep me out of this unless you pledge to support me in the numerous bant threads. Let’s also get this thread back on track.
Posted on 8/11/22 at 8:49 am to jangalang
I wasn't, he misread my original post and I agree in keeping thread on track. I actually have enjoyed the information coming in about fall camp.

As much as it pains me to say this, AL.com has some decent articles up in the last day or so.

How Landen King switched from TE to WR
Camden Brown Hype
Ike Hilliard wants to change the narrative around Auburn WRs
