I don’t agree. They found some late season magic but are not a very good basketball team. I genuinely think we are better. They got us by 2 at home with Robbins. Don’t lose to Grambling State or Southern Miss or late in the season to LSU and you are in

Definitely didn’t expect Texas Southern and Colgate to be joining us in the NCAA tournament when we played them earlier this year

I'm not sure what the argument is that we are better but it's silly that we are comfortably in and they are out. I agree that the whole body of work should be considered but when splitting hairs i do think recent form is important. Also quality wins should be a significant factor imo

The whole last 10 games theory went out the window about 6-7 years ago. To put more merit on every game. I’m not sure which formula is best for the college game but don’t lose to cupcakes and hold your own in a decent conference and you’re in.

It is difficult. Specific to Vandy when we played them their big got bailed out around the rim so many times in a one score victory it was ridiculous. If Wen and KD got those same calls around the rim we'd have 6 more wins this season.

Robbins was 17-20
Vandy was 20-27

We got 10 FT's the entire game. Wen and KD were knocked to the floor on drives their normal 10 times a game without a call.

Sweet 16 baby. We’ve been tested the last couple mos. We’ve played competitive back to back games lately but not won back to back. Got to put it together

With fair officiating, Wendy acting like a man, and KD continuing the hot streak we can make it to the sweet 16.

Jaylin will have to grab much more rebounds and have his 8 foot shoot on point and Broome needs to act more tough and we can do even more.

When is the bracket going to be announced?

I think winning one game should be considered a success this year - actually, I don’t think we will even win one game. I am just happy we are projected to make the tournament. Any wins at this point is just lagniappe.

I know it’s terrible resolution and hard to read, but if you zoom in they have 16 seed Grambling State upsetting top overall seed Kansas, so our round 2 game is vs a 16 seed. They also have 15 Colgate upsetting 2 seed Arizona in our bracket

So the path this computer algorithm has taking to the Final Four isn’t exactly as daunting as our 2019 run

Here’s a link to the actual post where you can zoom in and see better LINK

It has us beating Iowa by 23 in round 1, Grambling by 43, then 4 seed Xavier by 8 in the Sweet 16, and meeting 10 seed Boise State in the Elite 8 and winning by 4… then getting our arse beat by 22 in the Final Four. No last minute drama this time around

But anyway… here’s the new and final Lunardi Bracketology from today. LINK

This one has Auburn as a 10 seed in a first round rematch vs Northwestern. And making the Sweet 16 where Lunardi once again has us getting handled by eventual National Champ Baylor

For the last week or so his algorithm has really favored Auburn have a nice little tournament. It’s also not favored Bama, which is nice. He’s got 1 seed Bama getting bounced in round 2 by Maryland in front of what would be a home crowd in Birmingham, which would be nice to see :)

Bama on the cusp of their second SEC tournament title in a 3 year span.

Auburn hasn’t won a game in the tournament since 2019.

Who could’ve predicted that at the time?

I honestly don’t give 2 flips about what Bama does

With that being said, I DO have a small $100 futures bet on em’ to win it all
