I think Bruce has 5 more years left in him. My guess is that Steven is being groomed to take over when Bruce steps down.

Sounds right. I think the Person scandal took years off Bruce’s coaching shelf life

I'm sure he is but he doesn't have the panache or pedigree of Bruce to excite people about Auburn basketball.

I’m surprised someone hasn’t snatched Steven up already. His contract is up at the end of this season. Should he look at offers to gain more experience or stay and wait for the keys? I would hate to lose him, but I won’t be surprised if he gets an opportunity before Bruce hangs it up.

And covid. He didn't have a single backup in there for Sharife through all that, and Green was obviously not what we needed. Hopefully the pattern changes next season.

If Bruce is here for 5-6, 8 more years then I would like to see Steven go somewhere for 2-3 years as a head coach and run his own program. Then come back for a year under Bruce or something

I’m guessing that Steven has been promised the job when Bruce retires. He is doing more in game coaching than I can ever remember.

I wasn’t complaining about Bruce, jus wondering what happened w/ Ace. Bruce could take a dump on the court in the middle of a game and I’d support him.

In an interview before this season, Steven mentioned having turned down some offers but mentioned he would leave if the right offer came his way. I’m guessing he’d want a job at school in the south that has recently had basketball success. Would probably have to be a mid-major. Maybe a Murray State or MTSU type gig

It’s that time of the season where we discuss Steven taking over the program. Not happening.

This makes no sense. If Steven is having success as a head coach somewhere, why is he going to come back to coach under his dad as an assistant?

Steven ain’t getting a big job first I meant at some small school. I figured that was understood.

But yes Steven is being groomed to take over after Bruce. He’s already discussed his desire to be the next head coach and in my opinion he will be. But as I was saying I’d like to see him go Coach somewhere running his own program and then come back for 1 year to build relationships on the trail then take over.

ok buddy. Steven will take over.

Have you checked out Duke this year? That transition isn’t working out and it’s Duke. We aren’t Duke. Let’s hope Steven is not heir apparent. Coaching behind a coach and being the guy is very different.

Switching from Under Armour will only help but I think the biggest change in our recruiting is NIL. Bruce has always been a great recruiter and so have the guys on staff. They didn't just forget how to pull in top talent. We need NIL shite to be straightened out for bball

it was. If he is a head coach having success on his own, it doesn’t make any sense to quit after 2-3 years to go back to being daddy’s assistant.

ETA: I don’t think Steven is likely to be the next head coach except maybe on an interim basis. I could see Bruce retiring in a way (timing) that allows Steven a chance as interim to prove himself

Per EvanMiya.com, Auburn's most effective lineups in 2022-23...

Two Man: Moore/Williams
Three Man: Green/Jasper/Moore
Four Man: Green/Jasper/Moore/Williams
Five Man: Cardwell/Flanigan/KD/Traore/Westry obviously 5 man lineups have a lower data threshold to qualify

I find it interesting Moore is a common denominator for the 2,3,4 man lineups though.

Edit: This is basically just a +/- per 100 possessions of being on the court together vs every other combination on the roster btw

Desi Sills had 24 for K state off the bench in their OT win over KU.
