Possibly. I’m curious to see what happens with his dad and Dilly.

Your referencing the OC position I assume?

as in..if we get Morris, is his dad (who is good friends w/ Gus) a package deal as OC?

I really don't want another Gus protege on the staff. This is NOT what helps Gus leave his current offensive comfort zone in developing a more complex passing offense.

ofc...I don't know what type of coaching skills Chad Morris has w/ the passing game...if someone knows please let us know.

I think the powers that be would welcome a new OC if Gus can beat bama. Would give some hope for next year at least.

KN mentions the staff may be seeking closure with Cohen. Auburn talked to him and he says he’s still committed. Still taking his OV to Bama though.

With all the games he’s been playing, he’s the rare exception to me thinking the staff shouldn’t stop visits to other schools. Closure can come in more than one way.

Chad Morris had Clemson rolling but that was back when Gus had his offense rolling too. Hard to say if he has adapted better than Gus to defenses adjustments to stopping the O. Obviously his time at Arky was a disaster but those teams don't have SEC talent.

I would not be overly excited by hiring Chad Morris but at the same time I don't think it ever matters who the OC is as long as Gus is the HC.

Yeah, I think that is what Frat was getting at.

Noy necessarily. Especially since Gus may not be around to hire daddy. We need to go after Chandler Morris regardless of who our HC is.

The PTB may be done with Gus even if we beat Bama. There's talk that with Tua out & the other injuries Bama has AU winning that game wouldn't be seen as a real feather in Gus's cap by the AU influencers.

And there in lies the problem with the O & our program right now.

We have a terrible OC that we can't fire because he's our HC

KN says Auburn contacted Chandler Morris last night and we are now back in the thick of it according to his sources.
There’s a reason I asked what the board thought of Chad Morris to Auburn.

Since Gus isn’t going anywhere this year and we aren’t going to go out and completely revamp the offense, might as well bring in Morris and get a commitment from his son while we’re at it. If we can shore up the OL next year, we’ll be pretty good on offense.

So below is the guy some of you want as OC?
Here is a snippet on his problems at Arkansas:
'Inconsistent play at quarterback was a huge reason for the struggles for Arkansas’ offense under Morris. During his 22-game tenure in which the Hogs went 4-18, a total of six quarterbacks started for the Razorbacks. Whether it was this season or last season, it seemed that Morris consistently started the wrong quarterback. If one of his quarterbacks would struggle, he would often turn to another option after it was too late. '

Morris' offense was 12th or 13th both years he was HC.

So you want a coach who had problems with quarterbacks? mmmm..

Only scapegoat Gus has left is the buyout til it gets low enough for the influencers to stomach it. He could end up being the longest hired lame duck coach in sports history.

At least he tried someone else, unlike Gus
