I can see that happening too.

Jernigan, Johnson, and Cohen are all early enrollees but I don’t expect any of those three to play next season. Buskey and Zierer will also be here in January

Zierer and Buskey are probably our OTs next season. Brahms at C. Then you gotta figure out the guards.

It’s going to be 2 of Irvin, Jones, Manning, Hamm, Jackson, Osborne and Bell. Assuming the freshman won’t be involved and that Troxell isn’t going to be healthy enough.

For what ever reason, we are never in it for top OLmen.

We run a pretty simple scheme on the OL that tends to attract athletes over polished players. If you’re a great athlete with an OL body but you don’t know a ton about being an offensive lineman then Gus has the perfect position for you

Happy to be wrong about this one. I was leaning towards Auburn until the CBs started coming in yesterday. He hasn't been talked about as much, but Daniel Foster Allen is having a good year too (And I say that as someone who wasn't high on him that long ago). If we can add Webb, Walker, McKinnley Jackson, or the guy from Texas then we will be looking at another really good DL class.

Saw someone say something about WRs on the last page... I haven't seen anything even hinting it, but I wouldn't be surprised if we move on from Canion. He isn't having an overly impressive year and we need room for a 2nd QB and we also recently got back in touch with FSU commit Malachi Wideman who I think we would take over Canion.

Even though our OL recruiting is ho hum, to get all these early enrollees and the JCs, is a plus in trying to mold and build a OL for the next season.

Just think how bad it could be if we had to build an OL w/ recruits only coming in fall?

Its still not what a team wanting to compete for championships needs to do.
We have to do better. Period!

Let ‘em! This is awesome.
Even Neibuhr said last night he heard from multiple sources that we faced an uphill battle.

Now we need to hold on to him. Being from Tenn, doesn't mean UT is going to quit on the local talent.

Will he sign in Dec or do we have to wait and bite our nails until February?

In an interview right after he committed he said he wasn't taking visits to anywhere else. He's not an early enrollee, but I'm not sure if he's signing in Dec or Feb. I'm hoping a list comes out soon of all the people planning on signing in Dec though.

It was too weird to me that he was planning return trips
Agreed. That & him being the one who specifically set up the AU OV a few days before committing.

Confirmed by Keith FWIW. Also as of 2 months ago Hardy wouldn't even take calls from AU. Great work all around by Coach G, Steele, Gus, & Levorn "Chop" Harbin (Director of Recruiting for AU)

But, looking at your target list, are we really done at OL?
Barring losing Cohen yes.

I was just thinking Gus and Co would be all in on Olinemen last year and this cycle.
6 OL in a class is being all in FWIW. Gus was still doing his too damn picky thing on the OL as far as last year goes.

As Jonesy said a day or so ago we're back on Wideman in case Capers bolts for UNC or somewhere else. Gus doesn't usually drop commits barring grade or behavioral issues.

Not sure if the staff is going to try for high schooler Criswell or look to the transfer market yet. If the staff has made that decision it hasn't reached to AU recruiting reporters yet.

Forgot about Capers checking out UNC. I just have a gut feeling something is going to happen with Canion.. He was taking a look at other schools a while back too. We have to have room for a 2nd QB now and he's probably the lowest guy on our board. I don't think we would just drop him, but a mutual parting of ways isn't out of the question to me. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong though.

KN said he's going to wait a little while before finding out who all plans to sign in Dec because things change too often. I would guess we hear something closer to the end of this month.

We will & based on JLee's comments earlier today on how he expects the class to finish it looks like we won't take a 3rd LB after all unless we get Simpson back & that's a very long shot at this point.

I don't think there's any plans to drop Canion or just let him go.
