No doubt bro. I certainly understand "people in the know" sharing intimate details about the program with security guards. Im sure anyone would be willing to risk their million dollar contracts to make sure the security personnel know what the inner workings of the program are
Thats how "everyone knows Grimes was a dumb arse" except the head coach. Who obviously was just clueless.
And "IF" you did have this high ranking inner connection with these people who give you the info, why in the hell would you be spreading it on the internet?
Anyway, dont mind me. Im just trying to understand the inner workings of the people who actually know stuff.

In all seriousness, why is it so hard for you to understand that people do get valuable info from others? You constantly act like there is this tiny cone of people in the know...then you shite on those people who do pass along the info.

Probably just a lot of experience with people in general.
A statement saying that everyone can tell a assistant coach is shite except the head coach of a top 15 NCAA program is just a little off the rails dont you think
I know a lot of you hate Gus as our coach and a lot of that is probably warranted but are you really dumb enough to believe that he does not know Grimes and his abilities more that a beat writer or keyboard jockey?
You can not actually believe that.

No. No I don't. Every single one of us has been bitching about Grimes lack of recruiting for a few years now. IF I was Gus, I would have found a new OL coach several years ago. The same exact thing happened with Tub. He let coaches hang around too long and that loyalty cost him his job.
ETA Gus has shown stubbornness is alive and well in him.

I assume ellitor has some knowledge...his/her post are accurate. I will say that the post about Grimes felt more like someone trying to get spin out than a factual statement of Gus and Grimes situation. I have no idea one way or the other.
I can say I have one decent source at Auburn...I'm cautious about how I ask about things and when I occasionally and very rarely get info I almost never put it on the www. Maybe I say something years later when it doesn't matter, but never in the moment.

-We know he has been highly interested in recruiting for years.
-We know that his acquiring mind in combination with his loose access within the Auburn athletic department may stumble upon information from time to time.
- and we know he never claims to have inside information or to be an insider. He just shares.
- Lasty, we know we can frick E up if he comes with bad information like 24 has in the past, and that prevents E from being reckless with the information.
I share your disdain with the newbomb2 alters that pretend to have information, but come on. Pick your battles.

A lot of it is that. Can’t remember who it was, but he brought out the big guns one time and claimed a recruit was locked in with Auburn, but the recruit wasn’t. Backfired on him in a big way.

The thing with recruiting 17 and 18 year old kids.........our staff knows what a recruit is telling them. They have no idea what said recruit is telling other staff's. The Tennessee kid this year, can't remember his name, is living proof. The kid who committed to the u is another example. That's why it's all hearsay until the name is signed on the dotted line.
