Kind of what I'm thinking too. I could be wrong but it seems like Zakoby is a project and Josh Marsh will never play a meaningful down for AU.

Zacoby isnt a project at all. He was one of most improved players in the spring and definitely expected to contribute a ton this year.

To go back to this post:

quote:

Kam Brown(Fr) (could be a FB, but he’s a LB for now) Octavious (Fr)
Owen Pappoe (Fr)
Michael Harris (RS-Fr)
Josh Marsh (RS- Fr)
Zackoby McClain (SO)
Chandler Wooten (JR)
KJ Britt (JR)

So in addition to those guys, you all want to add 5 more: Webb
Simpson
Riley
Tisdol
Steiner

Britt & McClain
Wooten & Pappoe
Harris & One of Marsh, Simpson, Riley, Brothers

Then you factor in Webb if we get him and one of Tisdol/Steiner.

That is all for 2020, not 2019. For 2 spots. I even left out Brothers and Brown. I don't know where this lack of elite depth is coming from. You want to discount Marsh, that's fine but all reports on him have been very solid.

Harris is as highly rated as either Tisdol or Steiner. He had some attitude issues last season (or am I thinking of someone else? Can't remember exactly), but his talent is there. I think the "we lack quality depth" argument is pretty silly when it comes to LB.

Britt & Tisdol are ranked very similarly as recruits. So is Tisdol 8-4 type talent?

Lol....Wooten was recruited as heavily as any recruit Clemson signed...yet he's an 8-4 talent?

Most of our 8-4 seasons can be attributed to scheduling. Pull up Kyle's thread yesterday on SOS the past few years. Bamas is last amongst the big 6.

That's fine, then i'd suggest doing what 247 does as well, use the composite rankings.

Am I wrong or didn't someone switch a CB from USC to us just a few days ago?

Kam Brown should not be in the list of LBs at all

Also, Zacoby McClain is a baller but only 210lbs.

I don't know that Marsh had another SEC offer but should be a beast on special teams like crazy Craig Sanders.

I agree, which is why I didn't include him in the pseudo depth chart. He'll probably be FB when it is all said and done.

Doesn't bother me all that much. When we need bigger guys, we'll put Britt and Wooten on the field at the same time. I think I did read that McClain had gotten bigger than that. I think he was 215 to begin spring, so not unreasonable to think he could be up to 220 by the fall. He will be awesome against the spread teams.

For sure. Marsh has gotten some good praise and he has the athletic ability to compete. No clue if he'll ever be a serious contributor or not outside of special teams though. Time will tell.

SC reporter Hale McGranahan changed his pick from SC to Foggy a few days ago. No SC 247 reporter has a CB for AU.

Chad Simmons interviewed Tisdol this morning & still likes AU's chances. Tisdol plans to make a decision "real soon".

IMO, if he’s making a decision soon then it’s AU
