dont look for us to improve out "talent retention". Kids are going to leave if they dont play. Its just a fact.
I'm not talking about the ones who wouldn't make an impact even if they played. I'm talking about the ones who could have if they were used more or better such as NCM.

Look at our recruiting after big seasons. 2011, 2014? Its not like those big years really blew out our recruiting.
As I have documented many times the past few years, 1 championship level season on the field rarely has a real bump in the next recruiting class. Those championship level seasons build the foundation for better recruiting 3 or 4 classes down the line as long as there isn't a major coaching change. For example, 2012 got Chiz fired & killed the recruiting momentum the 2010 season created.

As good as we are doing recruiting, our damn rivals are doing better. Hard one to swallow.
True but we still need to do our in house stuff better. We don't have the margin for error they do right now

clear up those scholarships
Not sure that's ever been an issue in the Gus era. We have been 3-7 short of the 85 limit nearly every year under Gus without giving those open spots to walk ons.

4* S Ladarius Tennison tweeted that his commitment is coming soon.

KN likes AU’s chances. And as we’ve pointed out - there’s little coincidence that all these guys are committing at the same time.

I'm excited about the class, but unfortunately we might be doing what we did in 2009-2010 but look at the 2020 commits and leans for some of our opponents...you could fill and entire roster with the kids committed/leaning bama, uga or Clemson before you get to the highest rated Auburn commit/lean. We need to start recruiting like those teams circa 20NOW.

Gotta get the facilities upgrades and wins on the field for that to happen.

Weird rankings for Thompson, noticed he recently fell 162 spots on Rivals meaning he was a top 50 player before. Wonder what caused such a significant drop.

Rivals and 247 seem to think he is a linebacker trying to play safety.

He had a bigger drop on 247. A 383 spot fall in late July. My guess is they all feel he got exposed in pass coverage during the camp circuit this Summer.

He is already a big kid. 6'2" @ 199#. If he hits a spurt, he may need to move to OLB.

Thompson is considered a safety and being recruited as a safety. If Thompson wants to move to linebacker later that will be cool too. The significant ant drop is kinda weird.

17 total commitments so far. That seems crazy considering it seems like just a couple months ago we were hovering around 6 or 7.

commitment specifics:
1 QB, 4 WR, 6 OL, 1 DL, 3 LB, 1 CB, 1 S.

More help in the secondary is on the way (Tennison, Pouncey, George). Time to beef up the DL, add Tank, and maybe go after a second QB.

If we could get 2 out of Walker, Jackson, Ojulari, and Boykin that would be big. Need to lock down Tank and Webb and I’d rather hope for a good season and maybe steal some high school OT than worry about another QB.

Got a real shot at getting 3.
