We know it wasn’t at the Auburn camp. We would have seen a 4.4
So can I take that to the rant?

We’re all going to find out during his next two seasons of high school football. But we do know that Dilly and Gus had him run option with them in camp and they liked what they saw.
I think that it’s also worth mentioning that Gus values the deep ball...a lot. Probably more than a runner at the position. He needs the run threat to be alive and well but I don’t think he believes he needs a 1K yard runner at the position. Just my thoughts from what I see in the QBs he targets on the trail

SIJAP but per Jason Caldwell Joey ran a 4.82/40 at The Opening testing a couple years ago. McLaughlin ran a 4.84 there this Summer FWIW.

McLaughlin seems to be every bit as mobile as Bo on film.

Eli Manning Jr (Yes that's who Aaron McLaughlin looks like in the face) should concretely be a composite 4* when the composite is updated again. ESPN just released their initial Top 300 for the 2021 class & he checked in at #70.

Assumed it was automatic. How often does that happen?

Can't see Twitter at work, we getting Julian Nixon? He Aaron and Goodwin would be a nice start on offense for 2021. Once we lock up Brooks, the big DT from Blount, and my man Ga'Quincy. We comin'

I have not understood that myself. There was zero reason to get away from the 2013/2014 offense when Nick left other than he didnt have a QB to run it. Not sure why it "seems" like he wants pro set guys more now. I mean he knows about 10000 times more than all of us put together but from the outside looking in, it seems like a mistake
Well just for historical purposes, Gus did use more QBs like that I think at Tulsa which had a prolific offense. I think they were NOT true DT QBs....ofc that was Tulsa.
He does seem to do better if he has that option as a QB. But we will know more after this year, what is in Gus' crystal ball future..

we getting Julian Nixon

Well, If Cam ran roughly a 4.6, and Aaron ran a 4.6, I would say those are close 40 times. Now I know that the 40 isn't the be all end all of speed indicators...it's just a metric to go on and that's the info that we have. Maybe the timers were broken...who knows. If you have internal sources that know different then great. Please share any info you have on the kid!
As far as him being better suited for a Pro style offense, he may be. That is by far no indicator that he doesn't have the skillset or can't be successful and thrive in our Offense.

What exactly are you comprehending. Let’s start there.

We are his only CB pick so hopefully another good sign.

Good call, Randy. Keith is known for his Bias

quote:Not sure if Jonesy was sarcastic or not but Keith doesn't have bias, at least not compared to 90% of recruiting reporters out there.

Point of my post is a pick for AU from Donnelly doesn't have much value since he doesn't cover AU nor the state the recruit is from.
