Whoa...EJ Williams is back?? He spends a lot of time here for Clemson to be a foregone conclusion for his services. Interesting!

Not foregone to Clemson. Thought to be a tight battle with them & Bama. AU sitting 3rd at last report.

Like I said on basketball thread; we offered GaQuincy in basketball also.

I forgot to mention that Lee Hunter, a 2021 5 star DT made it to the visit.

Sounds like Pegues, Javion Cohen, and 2021 5* Dylan Brooks never made it. And probably others.

OL Jeremiah Wright commits to Auburn

quote:

AUBURN, ALABAMA -- One of Auburn's biggest in-state targets, Jeremiah Wright of Selma High, has said for weeks he wouldn't announce a commitment decision until signing day in December in February.

But now he has had a change of plans.

With Auburn filling up on the offensive line in the 2020 class, the 6-feet-4, 320-pound Wright didn't want to lose a spot so Saturday at Auburn's recruit picnic he committed to the Tigers. For Auburn, Wright is commitment No. 15 and the ninth this summer. The Tigers are now up to 13th in the class rankings.

With Auburn losing every projected starter off the offensive line following the 2019 season, there is a sense of urgency in this cycle at that spot. The Tigers -- and offensive line coach J.B. Grimes -- have responded with six commitments up front, including two this week. Kilian Zierer, the No. 1 junior college tackle in the country, committed to Auburn on Monday.

Wright is rated as the No. 50 tackle nationally in the industry generated 247Sports Composite (he's a 4-star for ESPN). But he isn't locked in at tackle. According to our intel, he could play tackle or guard in college.

Wright chose the Tigers over programs such as Tennessee and Georgia Tech. The Tigers offered him May 22 and they quickly shot to the top of his list. The Auburn staff -- as we've reported for several weeks -- has considered Wright to be a priority recruit and has treated him as such. He has visited them multiple times in recent months, often with several family members in tow.

In June, Wright named Auburn his leader and the Tigers have been on top ever since.

"Because it’s close to home, my family will be able to make it to all my games, all the home games, and see me," Wright said. "They've got a good engineering program, which is what I want to major in. And their players have a great bond. Everything is great there."

According to Wright, he speaks often to Auburn offensive line coach J.B. Grimesand a host of other Tigers assistants. But, he also communicates with Auburn coach Gus Malzahn.

"I sent him a text (in June) wishing him a happy Father's Day," Wright said. "He wrote me back. We text every now and then. He's a great coach. He's cool to hang around. He really likes me and wants me to be apart of the program."

Wright is not an early enrollee.

Another good pick up in a position of need. That leaves us 10-11 more spots, mostly on defense.

Keith said no more public commits today.

I wornser who popped privately. My guess is either 2021 3* QB Aaron McLaughlin or 2021 5* DT Lee Hunter.

Something changed course and probably no more commitments today.

-Could be 2021 5-* DT Lee Hunter. We lead and he may be close to making a decision.

-Brian George and Marco Domio are staying the night.

-Tank is not staying the night. Didn’t even do an interview, but KN says he doesn’t like interviews. He will do some digging.

-He says we lead for Aaron McLaughlin. Decision could come late July to early August.

- We lead for 2021 3* DT Isaac Washington.

- KN says the visit went “VERY” well for Tennison. Says we are in a good spot.

Maybe he committed, but wants to tell someone back home before announcing publicly or maybe wants to make a commitment video.

Clemson reporter Anna Hickey CBed Tennison to AU. Clemson is not a factor but given how well Clemson does in that part of Florida when they want guys she may have some legit insight there through contacts.
