Well Keith just said camp is Sunday. Pickens will either be at Bama or UGA Saturday...
Now that we're recruiting Robby Ashford hopefully that'll help convince Pickens he already made the right choice. We could be establishing a nice little pipeline from Hoover

KN says UMASS OT grad transfer Jack Driscoll took an OV last weekend and plans to commit later this week. Down to AU, USC and UCLA. Was 1st Team Phil Steele All-Independent team last year. Would have 2 years eligibility left

I don’t know if he’s SEC good or not, but we definitely need him to commit to us. Jack Driscoll is an awesome OT name, too.

After watching our back up options at LT during Aday Id be happy with Peggy Fleming, wonder if she has any eligibility?

What about the MSU grad transfer OL
Posted on 4/21/18 at 10:11 am to AUarch79
Apparently PFF had Driscoll graded higher than Calvin Anderson last year

Also 4* WR Dylan Wright is visiting. Big WR out of Texas

Yep. Casey Dunn changed my belief last year that players from those types of conferences couldn’t really contribute.

Jakai Clark confirmed with KN he plans to be in AU next weekend with Morris

They contribute at programs, and are drafted, and go on to long NFL careers every year.
I find it hard to believe that you haven’t noticed this phenomenon...

Do you think we end up with Morris and Pappoe?

Honestly not sure. If I had to guess it would be similar to E with us getting Pappoe and Tennessee getting Morris. UGA still scares me a bunch for Pappoe tho
This week will be interesting. So far UGA guys sticking with UGA and AU guys sticking with AU. Interested to see if anyone budges before announcement

Wiltfong CB'd Kobe Hudson to AU. He commits Friday morning
KN CB'd Ramel Keyton to Tennessee. Plans to commit next month. I like him a lot but seems like we are being very picky at WR with Pickens on board and last year's haul

Auburn running backs coach Tim Horton outlines Class of 2019 plan at RB (SECCountry)
quote:
Tim Horton talks Auburn RB recruiting plan
SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — While coaches can’t mention recruits by name, they jump on available opportunities to speak about recruiting in ways NCAA rules permit.
Auburn running backs coach Tim Horton — now recruiting coordinator — was the first to make public comments this spring about Tigers prospects. Horton spoke with reporters prior to his annual meeting with the Jackson County Auburn Club in North Alabama. During the media appearance, Horton outlined what he expects Auburn to do at the running back position in the 2019 class.
It falls in line with what has been expected.
“We’re going to take one for sure, possibly two. And we feel like we’re on some of the best ones in the country. Obviously I haven’t seen them this week, but starting next week, I’ll be in their schools and at their practices and really looking forward to it,” Horton said.
That quote addresses three points.
One, Auburn’s number is set at one with the potential to take two. Two, the Tigers are looking at the “best ones” in the country. That includes the top two in Noah Cain and John Emery Jr., but it’s not necessarily limited to that. Third, despite NCAA permission, Horton hasn’t been out on the road recruiting yet, but he’s set to pick up this week. Most high school football practices will pick up this week or next, which is when college coaches will begin flocking to high school campuses at a high rate.
But those three points aren’t the only ones Horton brought up.
Even though Auburn has recruited a few running backs, and hosted several, the Tigers’ efforts aren’t done by any means. They’ll try to bring as many running backs on campus this summer as possible. So far, Cain, Emery, Derrian Brown and Mark Antony-Richards have.
Horton expects that number to grow.
“Most of them, but not all of them, have been on our campus, but there are still a couple that we have offered who haven’t been to campus. I feel confident we’ll be able to get them on campus this summer,” Horton said.
The names I most think that would include: Trey Sanders, Jerrion Ealy, Deondrick Glass and Daniel Carter.

2 Auburn commits visit elsewhere this weekend
It’s visit season.
Uncommitted or committed, most recruits visited a college campus the last few weeks — especially this past weekend, given the spring game slate. While it isn’t Auburn’s preference, the Tigers coaching staff knows a few of its commits have taken visits this spring and will continue to take visits throughout the summer to colleges not named Auburn.
It’s just part of it.
Two of Auburn’s more high-profile commits went to a pair of rivals over the weekend.
2019 wide receiver commit George Pickens was in Tuscaloosa for the Alabama spring game. In a way, I’d consider that a positive. The Hoover (Ala.) wide receiver wavered back and forth between going to Athens to see Georgia — would’ve been his third visit this spring — or Tuscaloosa to see Alabama. He went to see the Crimson Tide.
To my knowledge, Pickens still hasn’t received an offer from Alabama, which is befuddling. Pickens wants to receive that offer regardless of whether he actually entertains the possibility of it. With programs such as Florida, Georgia, Florida State and LSU all pushing hard, it does make you wonder why Alabama is slow-playing Pickens.
Either way, Auburn should remain confident about the stability of Pickens’ commitment.
The other traveling commit: 2020 defensive end Andy Boykin.
Boykin, the lone 2020 commit (for now), went back to Athens on Saturday for Georgia’s spring game. He has been a regular at Georgia this spring, making his third known visit of 2018. Boykin remains strongly committed to Auburn — and his high school teammate Kobe Hudson might join him this week — but Georgia will make a push here, and the Bulldogs’ threat can’t be underestimated.
Really glad to hear Pickens wasn't at Georgia spring game. As for Boykin, not gonna stress too much about a 2020 kid

Daily update from Grayson (Ga.) contingent
The names Owen Pappoe, Wanya Morris and Jakai Clark have become staples in these notebooks. Those names won’t go away over the next weeks. If Auburn gets its way, those names will be present for a while.
This upcoming weekend will be vital in that reality.
Morris, a tackle, will take his final official visit to Auburn this weekend. It comes after an official visit weekend to Tennessee, the other choice in his top two. With Morris’ May 1 decision approaching, this will be Auburn’s last opportunity to woo the top tackle target.
The Tigers will receive some help.
Clark — a longtime friend and teammate of Morris, and a Tigers center commit — will be back on campus for an unofficial visit over the weekend. That is designed to give Morris a little more comfortability with a close friend on campus during his official visit. Clark will save his official visit for later in the summer or potentially all the way until the fall.

Waiting the reports to come out about Wanya's trip to Tenn.. I'm sure it was a good trip, but I really think we can sway him this weekend. Any chance Pappoe comes with them on an unofficial?

quote:Unlikely. He is OVing Texas this weekend. He is supposed to be back at AU 1 more time before committing though per SEC Country.
