I’m beginning to wonder if top programs will rethink their dependence on recruiting nation-wide if this transfer portal sticks. Seems like more and more of these top rated athletes are packing up and going home when they hit some adversity.

I'm kinda glad uat has been recruiting nation-wide. Hopefully it's pissing off future generations of instate kids' families.

Imagine the melt... Anoma, the highest-ranked defensive recruit of the Nick Saban era

That is one way to look at it. I feel coaches will actually have to be honest. No doubt Saban and Kirby are full of shite. Now they will need to evaluate time resources vs reality. You can't recruit a guy just to keep him from another team anymore.

It will be interesting to see how it trends. Auburn is offering half the state of Arizona right now

I am so glad I don't have the recruiting fever anymore, and now just sit back and watch all the insanity ensue.

I do appreciate the work you have done with all the news, backgrounds, and info though.

John Rhys Plumlee committed to Ole Miss.
I know we didn't really have a place for this guy, but I think we'll regret not finding one for him. He has potential to be a sober JFF, which is pretty scary.

Eh, Saban convinced Brent Calloway's handler, i mean step dad or whatever that relationship was, that he'd be a RB at bama.

I don’t think we turned him away. I think he was just way more familiar with OM (football and baseball) at the point that UGA turned him away. Not sure we had a legit chance with Nix already on board but I think getting him on campus and the coaches using all of their in-homes with him speaks to the idea that we would have taken him.

One can dream. The state was there for the taking in the early 2000s, but Tubs was too busy duck hunting.

sure a small % may pack up and go back home but what they do really well is convince top talent to come despite the log jam for pt. Remember Josh Casher? Top ranked C in the country UA all-American chose Bama over AU and never started a game that I recall.

We lost 4 LBs this season and missed on a ton of targets.

FWIW, if Richards were classified as strictly a RB he’d be #6 at the position this year - just ahead of Noah Cain
And DJ is still very, very underrated because sites never got to see him camp or see testing results on him.

As Barrett Sallee just theorized on The Drive radio show there may be a move to eliminate ENSD & go back to the old way of 1 period in February given the Free Agency...I mean transfer portal

I think he had a place. But he wants to be a QB and play. He's not dumb and sees Nix already on campus. He won't be here until summer. Better chance at Ole Miss
