24 I agree with you on Brahms. He had broken his leg two years in a row, and as soon as the bone healed this past season you put him in, Im certain his muscles were still quite weak, in both legs, will be a different person next fall.
Troxell has had two surgeries on the same knee, that is a worry.
Ashley is a big worry. Granted he came in late and fat two years ago, then last year this mystery injury. A five star means you have a significant impact the first year, we are moving into year three and he cant even have an impact on a very lackluster OL.
We have a bushel load of interior linemen yet had no replacement when we struggled mightily there during the season, not sure another year will make it any better, and coaching aint the problem.

Since 2013
Also, how many OL do we have right now that will ultimately make an NFL roster? Offensive lineman take time to develop. Sure, I'm irritated with the past stats, but what scares me is how bad we are in the hole with the OL, even if Gus left this time next year.

Hard to say.. I'd go with maybe two really.

We made Octavious Brothers final four.
Octavius is a name that would make Washington fans shake at their knees....

Coleman, Smith, and Robinson offhand. I’m sure there are some others.

Isn’t the guy you called a shite player, chad slade still in the league?
Posted on 12/24/18 at 6:11 pm to blzr
He went undrafted and has been bouncing around the Texans practice squad lol if you are trying to use him to say we put lineman in the league you’re fighting a losing battle.

I never called Slade a shite player. He was always one of my favorites because he earned his offer in camp as opposed to some bogus star ranking. I did always want to try him on defense because our DTs were garbage when he was here.

Just a FYI baws. Heard today Pickens will decommit and commit to UGA.

Predicting the 2019 Auburn recruiting class (KN)
I'm not including those that are already signed.
I'm not including those that are already signed.
quote:
RB: Mark-Antony Richards, West Palm Beach (Fla.) Wellington: UNCOMMITTED TARGET -- Auburn, Florida, Miami and Penn State are the top contenders. Auburn, Florida and Penn State (which already has two backs on board and is recruiting him as an athlete) all are said to be optimistic. Auburn has sold him hard on the idea that he could be the next Kerryon Johnson with the Tigers. They have similar builds and running styles. Richards had 1,300-plus rushing yards and 900-plus receiving yards in 2018. All told, he had about 3,000 all-purpose yards.
quote:
WR: George Pickens, Hoover (Ala.): COMMITTED TO AUBURN, DID NOT SIGN EARLY -- Pickens, who holds a 4-star rating and is a top-100 recruit, has seen his stock soar this year. By the time it's all said and done, he potentially could be a 5-star prospect in the industry generated 247Sports composite. He committed to the Tigers last summer (2017) but has continued to visit other schools, notably Alabama, FSU and LSU. He did not sign early but we are told he came close to doing that. Auburn feels good about keeping him in the class but will have to keep recruiting him hard to hang on.
quote:
OG: Kamaar Bell, Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County: UNCOMMITTED TARGET -- The 3-star recruit likes Auburn a lot and vice versa. But other schools also are pushing and a recent offer from FSU could makes things interesting. Look for him to officially visit Auburn in January. This will be a battle to the finish.
quote:
DT: LeDarrius Cox, Mobile (Ala.) McGill-Toolen: TENNESSEE COMMIT, DID NOT SIGN EARLY -- Many think the Vols commit will flip to Auburn. In fact, it may not be a matter of if, but of when. Cox has visited Auburn multiple times since the summer and Auburn likes its chances. Meantime, the optimism in Knoxville, Tenn., of keeping him in the class is not believed to be overly high. The Tigers would like to add at least one more tackle in the class and Cox seems to be the most likely to land in Auburn. He will officially visit in January.
quote:
DE: Charles Moore, Louisville (Miss.): MISSISSIPPI STATE COMMIT, DID NOT SIGN EARLY -- The No. 8 recruit in Mississippi, Moore recently took an official to Auburn and his interest appears to be strong. This constant flirtation with the Tigers certainly should be at least some cause for concern to the Bulldogs. We'd put Auburn's chances here at 35 percent -- but they're rising.
quote:
LB: Octavius Brothers, Rockledge (Fla): UNCOMMITTED TARGET -- Auburn, Miami, North Carolina and Ole Miss are the top contenders for Brothers at this time. Auburn quietly began recruiting him back in November and in a short time linebackers coach Travis Williams has built a strong relationship with him. Brothers will officially visit in January. If that goes well, the Tigers will have a shot to land this former UCF commitment.
quote:
LB: Christopher Russell, Dyersburg (Tenn.): UNCOMMITTED TARGET -- Auburn, Arkansas and Tennessee look like the teams to watch for this emerging prospect in Tennessee whose stock seems to be soaring. The former Memphis commit is an athletic freak who is expected to officially visit the Tigers in January. Even before the Early Signing Period came and went, this was a player who had shot up the Auburn board and moved ahead of several prospects with higher ratings.
quote:
CB: DJ James, Spanish Fort (Ala.): MISSISSIPPI STATE COMMIT, DID NOT SIGN EARLY -- James came up big during Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game week and of late Auburn has started to show more interest. It's unconfirmed, but we hear the Tigers might have offered. If Auburn pushes, it will be a real threat here.

Notre Dame's dual-threat QB Wimbush has graduated and is going to be transferring somewhere.
He's 6'2". Here's some highlights. If Gatewood isn't a sure thing, I'd take him. It'll give Nix some time to adjust and Gus some time to get fired. (I recognize the paradox there.)

As an Auburn fan I hope we get him and he wins the SEC next season, but one has to wonder if Gus either needs to sink or swim with his own QB's next season.
It will probably be similar to Bryant where we put on a full court press and the kid decides he'd be better off some other place.
