Just came in to see if there was any Oline recruiting news
Should be some news either way end of this week as 4* OG William Putnam plans to make a decision. Wiltfong says it's a clear AU/CLEM battle right now

KN says that Gus, Steele, Woodson & Garner all visited 5* LB Nakobe Dean yesterday. Feels like we are a longshot in that race but apparently staff feels like have fighting chance. BAMA/UGA/LSU/OM all major players in that one

According to JLee, AU is gonna visit 4* RB Jamious Griffin who is currently committed to NC State. He thinks chance he takes OV this weekend instead of in January. Also believes that staff has DJ Williams higher on board than Griffin tho they really like both
Georgia Tech is apparently school to watch too in this recruitment

Is Amari Kight still flirting with us at all in case Bama gets Neal along with Quick?
Posted on 12/11/18 at 10:52 am to RandySavage
KN didn't seem to think so yesterday. If it happens he would have to OV this weekend but Bama is his "dream school" so it looks doubtful....

Any idea how are things looking with Kamaar Bell? And do we have any targets for C or are we planning on moving someone over?
Posted on 12/11/18 at 1:37 pm to jt33
Bell named us leader a week or so ago but then also claimed that Chip Lindsey leaving affected his recruitment
He's not signing until February I believe. Don't think we have any true center targets. Putnam & Jones could probably both slide in if needed but I assume that with Kim, Brahms & Irvin on roster right now it's not a huge concern

Wasn't aware Irvin was a C.. Thanks.
Don't know how many people kept up with it, but Jakai Clark our one time commit, turned Illinois commit, just flipped to Miami a couple of days ago.. He's certainly had an interesting recruitment.

Ya Miami lost their only 2 OL commits to UF last week. Life is not going well down there for Richt & Searles

That’s really funny because when Clark committed to Illinois he tweeted something to the effect of “final decision.”

Top JUCO offensive tackle from London enjoys Auburn visit, seeks ‘comfortability, development’
quote:
Growing up in London, Bamidele Olaseni didn’t know too much about college football.
In fact, in London they didn’t even have high school football teams; only rec leagues. So outside of the rec leagues he played in, Olaseni’s knowledge of the college game in America was limited to what he saw on TV.
“When I started playing football, the first video, I think the first like — you know those ESPN college spring semester all-access? That’s what I used to watch, like Michigan, Alabama, Auburn,” Olaseni said. “Like places like that. So, I knew about all of them, but didn’t know that much about Auburn. Didn’t know it was in Alabama, to be honest.”
quote:
Last weekend, the 6-foot-8, 330-pound offensive tackle — who has spent the last two seasons at Garden City Community College in Kansas—found out what Auburn was like first-hand after taking an official visit to the Plains. It was his second official visit to a college campus, the other coming in October at Utah.
quote:
Just the facilities and the coaches, really,” Olaseni said were the highlights of his visit to Auburn. “And the coaches. People showing me around. Everybody’s nice. The facilities are great. Just a lot better than Garden City, looking at the stadium and stuff like that.”
quote:
A four-star prospect, Olaseni is rated as the No. 8 JUCO player in the nation and the No. 2 offensive tackle among that group. He said he isn’t sure where Auburn fits into the equation for him just yet, though he holds offers from the Tigers, Utah, Texas and a handful of other programs.
quote:
While Olaseni said he “really like(s)” Auburn, he’s in no rush to make a decision, as he won’t be signing with a team until February. Still, he knows what he’s looking for in a program for his final two years of eligibility after experiencing “trial by fire” during his first season at Garden City CC.
“Comfortability, development and just like being able to learn the game and culture, because I’ve been playing football really for two years,” Olaseni said when asked what the biggest factors in his decision will include.
quote:
Those factors were reflected in the message to Olaseni from Auburn’s coaching staff during his visit.
“(They said) I’m going to come in and just, they’re going to develop me, they’re going to be patient with me, just because I haven’t been playing football for so long,” Olaseni said. “They’re really going to like focus on the fundamentals and stuff like that, just try to get me ready.”

So basically this kid from London won’t be helping the OL any time soon if we get him.

Yeah kinda reminds me of Tega. Tega was awful when he first got here and showed everybody he needed some more work against Clemson last year. This year he wasn’t nearly as bad and IMO was one of our more consistent OL.

We are on so many backups to the backup plans. I need to remind myself to grieve more when I read that jucos are shutting down football.

More and more are shutting down. Arizona Western announced last week that this is their last season.
