Doubt it

Not really sure what direction AU would go. I know Al Pogue at Troy is someone that got a good look the first time

Hopefully don't have to cross that bridge or at least don't have to until after December signing day

McGriff drew a bad hand. OM's D recruiting has been dreadful.

AU’s only hope at this point at OT are guys committed to other schools. Thinks they’ll explore grad transfer market

Hmm. Do they not realize this is exactly why we are in the position we're in now on the field because of stuff like this?

They WANT to sign high end OTs but none wanna come

They've gone after & missed on 5* Wanya Morris, 5* Devontae Dobbs, 4* Amari Kight, 4* Warren McClendon, 4* Xavier Truss, 4* Charles Cross & 3* Adrian Medley

If you can't sign a high end OT then it's either take a project or go get an impact player on transfer market. With Driscoll & Tega both probably coming back next season I think this would actually be a good year to take a chance on a project at OT

Al Pogue

0 chance this happens. He only had a job the first go round due to Jeremy Johnson.

Yeah, it’s not their preferred strategy. Doesn’t help that Grimes was behind the pack on recruiting kids for this cycle.

Still pissed at Hand passing on Jalen Goss last cycle & not ever pursuing Walker Culver (AU legacy) that hard only to torpedo any of our chances with William Barnes, Ed Montilus & Richard Gouraige by bailing to Texas

Gus better be planning a lot of Netflix and Chill events with his O line recruits as soon as the season is over or we are fricked on the o line again.

That said, Keondre Jones should be really good. If we can land Putnam too then we potentially have two starting freshmen next year. Bring back the Ziemba and Pugh days that was referenced yesterday by a poster.

It seems like in decent spot for Putnam & flipping Eguakun right now. That would be a class of 3 interior OL & 1 OT which isn't great but considering where we struggling right now not terrible

Good news is it seems we are off to strong start with 2020 4* OT Chris Mayo. 2020 class needs to be at least 2 if not 3 OTs

Still wouldn't be shocked if AU snatched up a lower 3* guy just to get an OT body

They need all the recruiting staff to focus their efforts on offensive linemen until they get a few interested. Its apparent that Grimes is having trouble finding guys who want to play for Auburn. Which as of right now I'm sure playing time would be easy to sell considering the obvious.

That's always been a knock on Grimes. Good fundamentals guy but bad recruiter.

Still good news for AU. I honestly never thought he would decommit. Fact he's truly opening his recruitment back up is big for AU

Just need to start doing something on offense

Alright so here's full summary from KN on Haselwood decommitment

- KN says it really feels right now that AU/MIA are the 2 teams to watch tho you can't count out UGA or OK. Reiterates that you can't count the Dawgs completely out as it's not unheard of for a prospect to recommit after initially decommitting (UGA had exact thing happen last cycle with Adam Anderson)

- Haselwood is taking an OV to MIA this weekend & he apparently loves the program. The Canes were reportedly feeling better about their chances before this decommitment. However, AU believes Bo Nix is better than anyone on MIA's roster or recruiting class right now. That's going to be a key selling point for the Tigers

- Canes view AU as their #1 threat which KN says is a "huge development"

- AU expects Haselwood to OV tho details are still being worked out. He's made 4 known visits to the Plains this year & was at AU's win over Washington (remember when we did that? )

- Haselwood & his mom are very close with Kodi Burns & Larry Porter. He's also tight with AU commits Bo Nix & George Pickens due to their time playing on Cam Newton's 7 on 7 team (love that man)

- KN doesn't think having Owen Pappoe in class will make much of a difference. They know each other but aren't necessarily super close. Also KN says that Haselwood is his "own guy" meaning he won't really be influenced by other people in the class.

- Even with rumors of flip happening UGA continued to feel really good about him sticking. So this came as a bit of a surprise to them

- KN believes MIA is the early team to beat but says long way to go & could be a wild ride
