Assuming we get Puckett, does our staff see him more a CB or S?

Not sure that's been decided. Seen KN refer to Puckett as CB, nickel & S
Probably wherever they can get him on the field first

Steele basically wants his DTs to be able to slide to CB, so I can’t imagine why it would matter where we want him in the secondary

So Tyler Taylor got arrested.... That's two former major AU targets in trouble this offseason (Tray Bishop the other)
He was expected to be a contributor this season. Honestly surprised to hear it. Seemed like a good kid during recruiting process. His mom was heavily involved & bought the depth chart pitch by LSU which resulted in him going from AU lock to LSU signee

What did he get arrested for?

Getaway driver for some people robbing a pawn shop. Stole a bunch of guns, I believe.

Robbing a pawn shop (including some guns) and being a getaway driver. Facing 3 fenolies possibly

Wolk put up another insider yesterday. Some notes
- He echoes what KN has said recently, 4* LB Tyron Hopper has become a top target. He's close with Tim Horton & plays at same high school Malik Willis did two years ago. Says AU will continue to pursue Trezman Marshall & Kalen Deloach as well
- Noah Cain told Wolk that AU will for sure get an official visit either for LSU or Tennessee
- Mark-Antony Richards is tentatively set to OV for the LSU game but says that could change. Says that he's more open to leaving state than many think despite brother playing for MIA. Says AU is frequently on his mind
- Another Tye Edwards update (he's like a god prospect on the Bunker). He didn't visit with Kenny Logan during quiet period because he hasn't heard much from AU but hopes that changes. Wolk says Edwards more likely path into the class is at linebacker but that Edwards really wants to play RB
- Nebraska commit 4* Ronald Thompkins will be on AU's radar this fall. The staff is high on him but wanna see how he looks post knee injury. He told Wolk that he's firm in his NEB pledge right now but that he does plan on taking an OV to AU this fall
- Sidenote, somehow Derick Hall is only a 3* on Rivals... Wolk was told by a source recently that it's a matter of when not if Hall commits to AU. AU is apparently pretty confident they will land the Buck target. Hall though was impressed on his FSU visit & the longer his recruitment plays out the bigger the threat FSU becomes
- Wolk believes by August 17th AU will have commits from Colby Wooden, Zion Puckett & Nehemiah Pritchett
- 3* OG Kamaar Bell is planning on taking an OV to AU for the A&M game. Bama is his leader with AU battling UF for 2nd. Sounds like he wants to pick the Tide but they might not have a spot

KN also had an insider yesterday
- AU can host recruits for neutral site games & AU's planning on hosting a number of prospects. It's different tho than home games as prospects can't be on the field any but still a good chance for AU to impress some kids
- KN says as of today 4* LB Trezman Marshall will be a tough flip. However, KN does think he will visit 1-2 times this fall including an OV. 5* LB Owen Pappoe is still recruiting him hard to AU & thinks Tigers have a shot
- Says he's getting closer to projecting 3* DT LeDarrius Cox to AU. He's a TEN commit but has visited AU a couple times this summer. Sources told him that AU is in a good spot for a flip as of today
- KN defers from Wolk in saying he things that by the 17th AU will have only 2 commits on board: Colby Wooden & Zion Puckett. Both are guys that AU really likes. Landing them would give AU the #11 class in the country
- Says maybe on AU landing 3* Nehemiah Pritchett & 3* Kenny Logan this month. Staff is being patient due to the plethora of DB options. Says when either gets the green light they will quickly commit
- KN echoes Wolk's recent reporting on 4* Ronald Thompkins. AU is monitoring him this fall

Clark clears air about Tennessee visit (Rivals)
quote:
Grayson (Loganville, Ga.) offensive lineman Jakai Clark didn’t attend the Auburn BBQ in July. He instead visited Tennessee.
But Clark, an Auburn commitment, didn’t have much choice.
“I didn’t have a ride,” Clark said. “My parents couldn’t take me and (teammate/Auburn commitment) Owen (Pappoe) was going to Auburn, but said his car was full. It was either visit Tennessee with (teammate/Tennessee commitment) Wanya (Morris) or sit at home by myself and stare at the wall.”
Clark decided to spend the day in Knoxville with Morris, Morris’ mom and another friend.
“I’ve been best friends with Wanya since I was 10, so it was just me going and hanging out with him,” Clark said. “It wasn’t a recruiting visit. I had never talked to Tennessee and I barely talked to the coaches while I was there.”
Still, Auburn felt a little snubbed.
“I originally sent them a text saying that I wasn’t going to Tennessee, but I made a last-minute decision to go,” Clark said. “So they were a little upset and told me that I need to communicate better, and I understand that.”
Clark plans to visit Auburn for its home opener Sept. 8. He’s talked to the coaches on the phone.
“And they have gotten over it, but I want to sit down with them face-to-face and clear the air even more,” Clark said.
Clark’s visit to Auburn for the home opener against Alabama State will be the first of many visits to Auburn this season. He also plans to return for both the LSU and Tennessee games and hopes to bring Morris along with him.
“While I was at Tennessee, I talked to (Morris) about Auburn,” Clark said. “He said he’d think about coming to Auburn for an official visit, maybe for the LSU or Tennessee game. I told him he should come to the Tennessee game so he could watch the team he’s committed to play the team we want him to go to.”
Although Clark is confident Morris will visit Auburn in the fall, he isn’t confident about the Tigers’ chances of changing Morris’ commitment.
“I don’t know exactly how he feels about Auburn,” Clark said. “But I know he feels really good about Tennessee.”
Doubt he does that again

Damn. Went from a likely top 5 class a few months ago to not even a top 10 class

Yeah, it's sad... you should probably just stop following Auburn all together. Save yourself the heartache.

Admittedly, I don't follow recruiting as closely as some of you. But who is left on the board for Auburn, besides possibly Cain, that isn't a 3*?
