KN put up another insider last night. Quick summary below
- 5* LB Owen Pappoe continues to work hard behind the scenes to help AU build a top recruiting class. The two main prospects he's been linked to are 5* CB Andrew Booth & 4* LB Trezmen Marshall. Marshall just started to talk with AU after Pappoe committed. AU will watch Pappoe's spring game (FYI that's against Stephenson which is loaded with top 2020 prospects)
- AU really likes 3* S Jammie Robinson. Plays at same high school of Big Kay & Quay Walker. Greg Brown visited him earlier in spring & AU is expected to return soon. He has apparently shot up AU's board but Tigers will have to battle SCAR & UGA who both love him too
- It appears 4* WR Ramel Keyton will commit to Tennessee this afternoon. AU likes him & would take him but they aren't sweating losing him as they like the depth of WR in this class & feel they are in it for some top talent
- Bo Nix won't be at BCW because that's the same time as Elite 11. In past they could take a WR with them but not this year which is probably good news for AU because Nix would have taken Pickens. Instead, Pickens can go to BCW
- Yes 4* LB Kane Patterson's dad graduated from AU but he also walked on to play at Bama. Patterson is a fan of both programs

KN also did recruiting chat last night. Here's some of the major tidbits
- Gives AU a 25% chance of landing Clay Webb. Says UGA is a legit darkhorse, Webb really likes Pittman. Good news for AU is he won't make a decision soon so they have time to try & close gap between them & Bama
- Someone asked about RB recruiting. Says AU is hard after 4* Noah Cain & 4* Mark-Antony Richards. Cain will be at BCW, Richards will visit June 16th. AU also after 4* John Emery & trying to get him to visit again
- Was asked about DL & gave a list of names
Buck: Derick Hall & Khris Bogle
DE: Nathan Pickering, Jaren Handy, Charles Moore, Justin Eboigbe, Colby Wooden, Jamond Gordon
DT - Jaelin Humphries
- Sounds like Jashawn Sheffield's return trip will be at BCW
- Asked for BCW commit predictions, mentioned Sheffield if he shows up but also said 5* CB Andrew Booth could be someone to watch. Plans to commit during summer & June 2nd is summer. Reiterates that BCW doesn't often yield many commits that weekend but more sets them up for down the road
- Asked about OL recruiting & mentioned 4* Keiondre Jones & 3* Hunter Rayburn. Says fans will have to be patient with OL recruiting
- Another AU/UT battle brewing, this one for 3* S Aaron Beasley
- Says Pruitt won over Wanya Morris's mom, that was difference in recruitment

Sounds like he thinks a number of those DEs will grow in to DTs
Posted on 5/16/18 at 8:45 am to TigerPaw1
Just to build on that here's sizes of all those DEs
Pickering - 6'3" 286 lbs
Moore - 6'4" 268
Eboigbe - 6'4" 263
Handy - 6'5" 278
Wooden - 6'4" 230
Gordon - 6'4" 275
Think Pickering, Eboigbe & Handy could all grow into DTs

This isn’t going to happen. We needed more OL last year. Have to build quality depth here.

:cool story bro:
Ran into the principal for Pinson Valley High School this week. He was glowing about Bo Nix. "He'll be ready from day 1." Were his exact words.

I don’t think the principal would have any idea

Yes, I guess we will considering we had a shitty OL class last year and are poised to have another shitty Oline class this year. When can we stop being patient and freak out? At the end of this year? In two years when Bo Nix gets killed on the field because we have no one to protect him?
His point was it's May. Recognized fans wanna see results right now on OL but they will probably have to be patient
I just wanna see some top tackles visit for Big Cat Weekend right now

FYI Rusty over at UGA 247 seems to think Dawgs are making a move for 4* OT Xavier Truss. He's high on AU as well

Still no excuse for not getting in on some DTs. Didn't we only take 1 last year too

If there's one coach that's earned my trust it's Garner

Good point Paw. Alec Jackson signed with us as a SDE at 270, he is now 297 and still has 6 months of growing before fall. I like quick DE and then put some more muscle on them. Hard to argue the results.

Garner likes kids who can play several spots. Davidson, Williams, Coe etc. can line up almost anywhere. Russell is the one guy in the middle, and there he will stay.

In case there was any doubt, Wiltfong & Wolk both put in CBs for Tennessee today for Keyton
Posted on 5/16/18 at 10:22 am to TigerPaw1
I am ok with this. He seems a bit slow and if the coaches are confident that we will be able to land higher rated guys, I am all for it.
