Caldwell just posted an awesome Pappoe interview. Pappoe says that feels like weight off his shoulders now with commitment. Said told himself that if any other school could take his attention away from UGA then he knew that's place to be & AU did just that. More praise for T-WILL & his relationship. Says now focused fully on recruiting for AU. Says he, Nix & Pickens all have guys they are after. Pappoe is recruiting 5* CB Andrew Booth, 3* DE Colby Wooden, 4* RB Noah Cain & 4* DL Nathan Pickering. Also says trying to flip his close friend 4* LB Trezman Marshall from UGA. He's really excited about BCW & plans on bringing all his childhood friends, cousins, girlfriend & more family. Also confirms he's "all in" despite what other articles are saying about him not being solid (UGA writers)

Thanks for the update.

Wat? He overthrew a wideout in the second quarter that had no one within 29 yards of him by 10 yards, would have been an easy touchdown.

Nobody is saying every team has to have a QB that can run to win big. Just that Auburn, under Gus, seems to do much, much better with one.

It really is just that simple. For some reason, people want to deny the obvious. Maybe it is because we are not doing that right now and they want to be on board but moving forward and to get to our best, its what Gus needs

Pruitt had Gus' offense figured out in 2013 in the NC game by the 2nd half and every defense in America followed suit. Set a wide contain by bringing extra pressure from the boundary from a corner/safety/star and allow for the read DE to crash on the RB.

They were doing that the entire game and we were slaughtering them. We missed several open plays a short FG and still scored 31 and their defense could barely breathe on our last drive. And that was against one of the most talented defenses in CFB in the last decade with a month to prepare.

Every team followed suit and shut us down? Well here's some numbers from 2014...

45 against Ark
41 LSU
23 @ a very good state D in a game where nothing went our way
42 against So Car
38 against A&M despite a missed FG and two unforced redzone fumbles
44 @Bama
31 against Wisconsin without Duke and an injured Sammie

This revisionist history is so laughable.

I don't know about that. We dominated the 4th qtr by having the ball for over 11 minutes.

As in most games, teams adjust. Pruitt at halftime figured out the adjustments, and it worked in the 3rd. In the 4th AU adjusted to HIS defense and dominated their D in the 4th.

It's all in adjustments and having the personnel to be multidimensional.

It's not figuring out RPOs. Its do you have the personnel to stop our offense? Or do we have the personnel to adjust when they are stopping us.

Why I was asking is because RPOs are as effective at equalizing the playing field as zone reads are. Sure our teams that have won big were led by a couple DT quarterbacks, but it’s a crapshoot finding the right DT quarterback. Luckily, there are different ways to skin a cat when we don’t have great mobile QBs.

If the zone read is dying, then why is the NFL starting to use it as an offensive weapon?

It's not dying...teams just need to have more than one option off of it with a quality QB who can throw too.

It may not be racking up the yards like when it first was used, but it is effective as an O.

No, we need a QB where the other team has to actively game plan and commit numbers to try and stop them from running the ball. Then we need a blazer on the outside (Coates) to make them pay from bringing that extra defender into the box.

Nix and Stidham may not be statues and they might steal and extra first down or two during the course of a game but nobody is really worried about them running the ball.

I would much rather have a team where the defenses are more worried about the QB throwing the ball than running the ball.

The last two elite running QB's won the SEC and made it to the NC game with one of those being a win. So I would have to agree, but why can't we have both like a certain number 2 that played for Auburn.

So you really want the Woody Barretts & JF3s of the world? Guys who are good to great runners but below average passers...You can have 'em but you won't be successful. Even in college no matter the offense you have to have at the very least efficient passers more than excellent running QBs to win at a high levels in most cases. A below average passing QB constricts the field too much whether he is a great runner or not. The true duals, who can be a major running piece to an offense & can pass at a quality level, are hard to find.

The guy has like two losses in his career. He’s fine in college in the right scheme.

Yes, E. This is clearly what Lanier wants.

No but it was a lot of Jalen Hurts legs that won almost every game he ever started. Not just a quarter of play which is all Tua has played so far. Im not saying that he wont be great. He may. But Gus does not coach Alabama and they are historically a pro set offense.

No and stop being a fricking retard Elitor. You are suppose to be better than that. The discussion is that some of us feel that Gus runs a offense better with a capable QB that can run the ball and not just a pocket passer. Nobody wants JF3 and really never did. We want the wheels and the threat of the wheels and not another Sean White.

What we want is a QB that can and will run the ball and has the passing accuracy to keep the defense on its toes. Its really not hard to see and some of you are just too fricking hard headed to believe what you are seeing right in front of your face.

College defenses are not NFL defenses and if you are too stupid to see that, you really should just stick to transferring information from one site to another and let the others discuss the topic.

The proof is in the results.
