This is stupid. I’d rather have a secondary coach that can teach not recruit. We don’t need a staff of recruiters

For the guy talking about Greg Brown... he's not an elite recruiter, but he's not bad. Almost every prospect that he's met with have talked about how much they like him and how much they like breaking down film with him.

Sucks about Threat, but it's probably for the best on both sides. Fuqua doesn't really surprise me either, we took him when we had a huge need at S and now have 3 guys committed who are rated higher... Still wouldn't surprise me if the P took a grey shirt too.

Dude want Troopa??? Coaches have to coach.

If Steele is good with him, I'm good with him

Sounding like Tindall might not sign this week. Good sign for AU. UGA 247 hasn't confirmed either way yet tho so we will see

So what you're REALLY trying to say is....Tindall is a lock to AU.

Actually, here is the latest from Jeff Sentell on Tindall (article posted two hours ago):

Channing Tindall was one of many talented players who took their official visits to UGA over the weekend. It was his second official visit in his recruiting process.
He made his first official visit to Auburn for The Iron Bowl, and it did not disappoint. The Tigers are clearly in the running for Tindall. A lot of the focus tilts toward Georgia and South Carolina in this recruiting race, but that might not be the whole picture. The Tigers are clearly in it.
Tindall has a close bond with Auburn linebackers coach Travis Williams. For many reasons. Tindall said he continues to view that relationship as the tightest connection he has with a recruiter. [b]

Channing Tindall rates as the nation’s No. 5 OLB on the 247Sports composite rankings for 2018. If he chooses UGA, he likely will play inside linebacker. (Hale McGranahan/SEC Country)
The nation’s No. 5 LB prospect does not expect to sign or even commit during the early period.
In Athens over the weekend, he was surrounded by all those 5-stars who could wind up as his teammates.
“I always have fun when I’m at Georgia,” Tindall said. “So it was fun. The highlight of it had to be watching them practice. They have this competition thing.”
He got to see some call-out drills. Coach Kirby Smart was the conductor for those high-energy reps that saw running backs vs. linebackers, tight ends vs. linebackers and so on.
“It doesn’t matter what position you play,” Tindall said. “You are going to get in those one-on-ones. … Everybody is yelling and getting all excited. That has to be my highlight. Just seeing all the energy.”
It was the first time that Tindall had seen the Bulldogs practice.

What about that hospital visit to see Azeez Ojulari?
Channing Tindall was a part of a group that went to see UGA commit Azeez Ojulari after his surgery on his right knee over the weekend.
Justin Fields was there. So was Kearis Jackson. Trey Hill also was on hand.

That photo includes three UGA commits and a major target for the program in 2018 at Ojulari’s bedside. Why did Tindall want to be there?
“I first met Azeez at one of my very first camps or whatnot,” Tindall said. “So we have formed kind of a bond there. Then after he committed to Georgia, he was the first person there besides Justin Fields and Kearis Jackson and all of them to actually try to recruit me to go there.”
Tindall wanted to be there for his friend.
“Just seeing him in the hospital made me sad to see him like that,” he said. “I just had to support him because he has done a lot for me. Just building me up. Trying to help me. We’ve worked with one another trying to become the best athletes that we can.
“I had to go see my brother really. To see how he was doing. It was really just that simple.”
Tindall said he hoped to see the “home feel” and learn the feelings of the Georgia recruits about the program.
“I did get that,” he said. “Everyone was very busy. But somehow they kind of all stuck together as brothers. I kind of liked that. It was sort of how we all stuck together to go see Azeez. Just like that. To support each other and get through things.”
He said the staff has told him that he would line up at inside linebacker if he chooses to play for the Bulldogs.

So to sum it up for each school:

Auburn may have a chance because T-Will doing work (as usual)

Georgia has a legitimate chance because he is close with a lot of the other UGA commits

USCe may have a chance because of hometown pressure.

I am a bit disturbed by the lack of rumors around AU before a signing day. Usually now is when the "insiders" come out in full force to hint at possible flips either to AU or away. I am guessing a lot of people are having to adjust to this new signing period

Wolk just posted that Auburn is out of the running for Carvin. It appears Goss will probably sign with us tomorrow then, which I am ok with, as long as we get one of Barnes, Gouraige and/or Wonnum.

I said it the other day but I actually like Goss long term more than Carvin as an offensive tackle. I personally think Carvin is a better fit at guard than tackle. Goss is gonna need some time but if he can put the weight on he's athletic enough to be an SEC OT

But ya we really need one from those 3. My gut is saying we get Gouraige but we will see. I could live a Irvin/Stutts/Goss/Gouraige OL class

Can we at least get Tank?

Can't believe we are gonna lose another in state DL to Stanford.

Why is it only what would otherwise be AU leans all the sudden care about academics? Same thing happened a few years back with that white DL from Walton. Frick

I keep seeing the word "personality fit" by KN & Wolk about Tank. Wondering if staff doesn't think he has it mentally. That's just a guess

Ya this is getting irritating

FWIW Bama was after both Ryan Johnson and Andres Fox as well. But ya we end up being the team they would have picked if the fancy smart boys from CA hadn't come knocking

Goss not committing this week. Says will wait until February. Auburn apparently did not push for him to make a commitment this week and told him to be patient

Obviously that means the staff thinks Gouraige and Barnes are locks

So probably no new commits tomorrow. Keeping an eye on guys like Quay Walker, Dylan Wonnum, Luke Ford & Channing Tindall in hopes that none of them sign early
