We need OT's, even for depth right now. Glad you've predicted this kid's future already.
So, I'm welcome to your suggestions as to who else to go after, but there aren't many options left.

He’s a former Colorado commit with a ton of D1 offers, and is getting a serious look from ohio st. His size seems fine... and fits our offensive scheme.
Feels kinda like the graham shuler recruitment from a few years back... auburn legacy OT from TN who we offered late bc we missed on our main targets (ended up being 3 yr starter at Stanford a center I believe).

6'6 280 in high school and can run. At this point, I think we could do a lot worse.

This is the kind of player that will probably never start for Auburn - spends 4 years on the bench then transfers as a graduate transfer to the University of Tulsa. We have enough of these types of players on our team already - don't need another one.
Sometimes it is important to be cautious about chasing recruiting stars...I realize you need a few big dogs, but they all won't be big dogs. I have no idea about Walker, but his size and athleticism is intriguing.
My guess is nobody on this board was as excited when we signed Nick Coe #238 player via composite 247 over Byron Cowart #3 player via composite 247. Look how that turned out...Coe barring injury will make a lot of money playing this game.

KN just put up an article on 4* WR Justyn Ross. Says he doesn't have a leader & probably couldn't make a decision right now if he had to. Says he thinks the Clemson coaching staff is "cool" & apparently his mom likes them best right now. Says Gus Malzahn is HC he speaks too the most & says that Kodi Burns is probably " probably one of the coolest recruiters I have". He wanted to see an improved AU passing game this fall & says AU showed him everything he wants to see. Likes our depth chart because doesn't see anyone with his size. Also says Bama showed him an improved passing game & he really likes Derrick Ansley his area recruiter. Final decision will be a family decision & he wants to choose somewhere "where my people feel comfortable with me being there and don’t have to worry". Also sounds like AU might get his last OV in January
Still think Clemson is gonna be tough to beat here but this is also the time when Alabama makes a huge push. I do think AU still has a real shot & getting last visit is a positive

Walker Culver's highlights for anyone interested
Some thoughts, know that I am far from some expert in OL play but I can pretend to be on the internet
- Love his frame & moves well for his size
- Will need to get stronger, not as dominating physically as I would expect against his competition
- Good footwork, looks well coached
- Will probably need 1-2 years in program before having a chance to really contribute
Not a bad player. Obviously would take someone like Richard Gouraige or William Barnes over him but he's got some potential. I would hope AU could get one more OT if they were to take him but I wouldn't be upset if we pushed for him. Solid prospect

He is also pretty small.
Not sure about that one... He's 6'5" possibly 6'6". That's not small at all
Would definitely need some time in the weight room. He's something like 270 lbs right now but has the frame you like to see an OT prospect
No he's not a day 1 impact player but there's some potential there. I would hope AU would take another OT to go with him in this class tho
Also FWIW he's getting a hard look by OHST. They just might not have the spot open for him but they really like his potential

Theoretically, we shouldn't need him to be an immediate impact player. Hopefully between Tega, Sammons, Troxell, and Ashley we can have OT fine for a year or two for him to develop as needed.
He is definitely a project for sure, but he has some clear upside to his game.

KN says Gus went in home with Channing Tindall last night. Also says UGA gonna be tough to beat...
That's gonna be a really big loss for Muschamp. SCAR was the favorite for so long

This is like saban 2008 all over again... what smart is doing right now.

But nothing fishy going on.

That is what bagmen are for

No more fishy than what happens other places in the SEC. Wasn't Smart one of the best recruiters on Saban's staff?

People can say whatever they want, but losing the SECC really hurt in recruiting. It swung momentum back to thUGA. Can't wait for OU to go in dry on that little lesbian PE coach.

Nah man. Bama and UGA are cheating. That's the only reason they are getting these recruits. It's got nothing to do with being the state school in talent rich states, having elite recruiters, and having a great deal of success on the field.

I get that you need to believe that.

It was stated on here by others in the know several times that we really needed to beat thUGA this year. Well, they did a month ago. Recruits rolled in. Fast forward to the SECC, and now thUGA is cleaning up again. Coincidence?

So I get what you are saying & I can understand the confusion. I can assure you tho we didn't lose Hill because we lost the SEC Championship game
Gus needed to beat UGA this year for a few reasons. First, he needed to keep his job & losing four straight to both UGA & BAMA would have sent him packing. Second, he needed to show that those programs aren't in some seperate class than AU. Saban is a known product while Smart is able to sell the future. Gus is in year 5 coming off three mediocre seasons. Teams are hammering us on the trail about Gus's job security and it's hard for AU to argue you can come win championships here when we are losing 5 a year
By beating UGA & Bama to finish off the season he gave himself some real job security and showed that AU is in the same tier. AU played for a championship and that's something you can sell. Finishing the season the way we did made it clear Gus would stick around helped AU close on some top targets who might have been concerned that coaching changes were coming
UGA no doubt got a boost winning the SEC Championship because now Smart has a championship to show year 2. That will play on the recruiting trail. But losing it doesn't all of a sudden mean AU has lost all their ground. Gus can still sell that AU is competing for championships & you (meaning the recruit) could be a key piece in us taking the trophy home next season
More than likely UGA was gonna land Trey Hill no matter what. We had some hope after him having 2 really good visits but once the emotion wore off he chose the school that's more than likely been his leader for multiple years. UGA was already the leader for guys like Jamaree Salyer, Channing Tindall and Luke Ford so winning in Atlanta only helps validate those guys feelings about the program.
No idea if that makes any sense but the gist is Gus had to win those regular season games to kill the hot seat talk & be able to sell AU as a legitimate championship calibre program. Losing the SEC Championship doesn't invalidate those 2 points

What kind of idiot couldn't sell Auburn as a championship caliber program? The proof is there. Nobody besides Bama and Clemson have had more success in the past 7 years.

Most of these kids were either 8th graders or freshman in HS when AU last won an SEC Championship. They aren't as locked in to all things Auburn like we are. Yes AU has had some real highs but the in betweens have been very average. That was my point. We needed to show that our best days weren't behind us with Gus
I feel like I tried to give you a thorough answer & you just grabbed one small piece & freaked out
Whatever at least I tried
