John Campbell, Calvin Ashley’s former teammate, remains high on Auburn as offers flow (SECCountry)
quote:
Campbell trusts Ashley’s take on Auburn. It’s a strong start for the Tigers, though Campbell’s recruitment will likely run all the way until National Signing Day 2018.
“I know Calvin pretty well. I knew him since middle school. He transferred to my middle school Southwest. Then I played with him in high school,” Campbell said. “He told me Auburn is like home. They treat you like family. The coaches, they’re going to keep it 100 with you. They’re going to keep it straight with you. It’s a nice place to be.”
Campbell has been a popular prospect since attending Auburn’s junior day in January.
A 6-foot-5, 290-pound offensive tackle, Campbell has offers from — here we go — Duke, Iowa State, LSU, Georgia, UCLA, Syracuse, UNC, Colorado State, McNeese State, Buffalo, Texas-San Antonio, North Carolina State, Troy, Indiana, Boston College, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, Florida, South Carolina, Alabama, Ohio State and Ole Miss. That’s in addition to the 9 offers he held previously, including one from Auburn.
Again, Campbell’s recruitment will be lengthy. Auburn sits in promising position so far, but Florida is considered the favorite at this time.
“If I had a list, Auburn would be near the top,” Campbell said. “It’s a great coaching staff. All the coaches are pushing me to my maximum potential.”

Recently-offered Master Teague III: Auburn coaches are ‘men I would like to be coached by’ (SECCountry)
quote:
Master Teague III stepped into Gus Malzahn’s office Tuedsay without an Auburn offer. He exited with one.
The 4-star 2018 running back from Murfreesboro, Tenn., made a mid-week visit to the Plains to spend some time with the Auburn coaching staff. Teague toured campus with Tim Horton and Herb Hand. Once he met with Malzahn, Teague’s pleasure with his visit — already a great one — skyrocketed.
“I got to talk with coach Malzahn in his office. He said that he liked my film and that I was the top of running back they wanted,” Teague told SEC Country.

Longtime Alabama fan Coynis Miller making 'business decision' regarding recruitment (AL.com)
He gone
quote:
The recruiting trips to Jackson-Olin didn't stop with Auburn signee T.D. Moultry.
One grade below, Coynis Miller quickly became noticed with his frame and athleticism. Now at nearly 6-foot-4 and 290 pounds - with room to grow into "a good 300," the four-star defensive tackle has become a priority for colleges looking to strengthen their defensive line.
Miller has recently visited Auburn and LSU. Georgia and Clemson also just offered. He'll go to Alabama this weekend for a Junior Day, to Louisville on March 4 and he's setting up other visits. Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Florida are also recruiting him hard, he said.
While Moultry committed to Auburn last May, Miller will take longer.
"As of right now, I'm pretty wide open until I visit all the schools at least once," Miller said. "I'm going to start narrowing it down from there. I want to commit after the season because I want to take my official visits."
Miller transferred to Jackson-Olin from East Lawrence after his sophomore season. He grew up an Alabama fan, but won't let that shape his decision.
"It's more of a business decision," Miller said. "I don't want to go to a school just because I grew up a fan. I still have to fit their system. I don't let it affect me.
"I can see myself going out of state, but I'm going to have to fit with the team and the school."
He gone

Where Auburn target Ka'Darian Hill stands (AL.com)
quote:
Auburn was the first SEC program to offer Eufaula defensive lineman Ka'Darian Hill, and the Tigers are seemingly gaining more competition with each passing week.
Hill is still considered under the radar as a three-star recruit, but his stock is on the rise. His offer list is now up to 14 schools including Georgia Tech, Memphis, Ole Miss and Wake Forest.
For now, he's remaining open minded and patient in the process and hasn't named any favorites or top schools.
"I cover recruiting really closely and he's going to be a really hard kid to figure out," Eufuala head coach Bryan Moore told AL.com. "By the time it's all said and done I think he'll have almost every SEC offer, if not all of them. It's just going to be unique to watch how he goes through the process. He just goes about his business."
Hill is the nation's No. 60 defensive tackle in the 247Sports Composite. Often double-teamed, he tallied 52 total tackles with four sacks as a junior last fall as Eufaula finished 8-3. He prides himself on being explosive and physical.
"I'm very explosive and very physical," said Hill, who is being recruited as a defensive end and defensive tackle. "There's always room for improvement, especially at the d-line position. I continue to keep my grades up and keep working my butt off every single day. Right now I'm just focused on grinding and leaving (my recruitment) up to God... It's a blessing."

Peach State DB Quindarious Monday Reveals his Leader (Rivals)
quote:
IN HIS OWN WORDS: "Right now, Auburn is my top school," said Monday. "I lean their way right now because they show me the most love and I have really connected with the coaches there.
"I am talking to T-Will (linebackers coach Travis Williams) or new defensive backs coach [Greg] Brown every day right now. I like both them a lot.
"I have visited Auburn four times already and I like the feel I have there. I like their campus and I love how they are recruiting me too. They are coming after me hard, like they want me bad and that means a lot to me."
RIVALS REACTION: Monday gets very excited when talking Auburn and he is not shy about the amount of love he has for the Tigers right now. With that said, he is nowhere near a decision at this time. He said commitment has not even crossed his mind once yet and he does not plan to choose his school until after his senior season. He would like to play somewhere close to home because he wants his family to be able to attend most, if not all of his games. The next visit he has scheduled at this time is to Tennessee on March 4.

Scout breaks down its top 10 offensive performers from The Opening Orlando over the weekend (Scout)
quote:
4* William Barnes, 2018 OT, Apopka (Fla.)
Perhaps the only offensive lineman to slow the highest-rated prospect in attendance, Xavier Thomas, Barnes did much more than that on Sunday. He won more reps than otherwise versus any combination of defensive linemen and did so with feet and power. He moves well laterally and has the body control to slide his feet while engaged -- even with one hand. Barnes was successful against power moves with his low center of gravity as well in what was one of the top linemen performances of the afternoon. Earning a spot in the "Final 5" to cap the camp, Barnes looked every bit like a top 10 tackle in America. The latest on his recruitment is HERE.

Here Are the 10 Defensive Players That Really Won Scout Over at the Opening Orlando Regional (Scout)
quote:
4* Amari Burney, 2018 ATH, Clearwater (Fla.) Calvary Christian
Burney is a pure safety, but also showed solid one-on-one technique Sunday afternoon. He stuck to his trade whether coming downhill, when he was at his best, or even in transition and/or in trail position.
Burney played physical when needed, but always seemed to be in position no matter his role on a given play.

KN had update on 2 visitors yesterday. NR LB Michael Harris who recently got offered by AU visited Monday. He is very high up on AU's board and KN says don't be shocked if he ends up a top 100 prospect. 4* RB Master Teague was on campus yesterday and received an offer. KN says we will probably take 2 more RBs to go with Shivers

He'll get to play this year because the NCAA drags arse on their rulings. He should be able to leave OLe Miss in the off season though and be immediately eligible IMO

Chip Lindsey extends Auburn offer to OT target Tommy Brown in ‘different’ way than normal (SECCountry)
quote:
Brown traveled with his family to Phoenix last weekend and decided he’d make a pit stop at Arizona State to visit to the Sun Devils. Before his visit, Brown thought it made sense to call his primary contact at Arizona State, so he did.
That contact happens to be Auburn’s new offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey.
“I was telling him all about why I was going to be in Phoenix. He said, ‘Wow, that’s really cool … Well, I’m at Auburn now.’ I was like, ‘Oh well, that’s cool. Congratulations.’ He was like, ‘Have they given you an offer yet?'” Brown told SEC Country.
The answer to that last Lindsey question: No.
Herb Hand had spoken with Brown on a few occasions. When juniors were permitted to text back-and-forth with coaches, Brown reached out to Hand and the two had a brief interchange. Hand also visited Santa Ana, Calif., to check out a variety of Mater Dei prospects, Brown included.
Still, no offer.
Once Lindsey heard that news — in coincidental circumstances — the gears started turning.
“Coach Lindsey said he’s going to offer me. He said he wanted to talk to coach Hand first to make sure he knows. So he did that. I texted him last Friday and said, ‘Hey coach, I wanted to see if you’d gotten to talk to Coach Hand yet.’ He said, ‘Give me a call tomorrow,'” Brown said. “I called him on Saturday. He offered.”
“It was different. It was pretty funny,” Brown said.

Auburn football adds 2-time FCS All-American OL Casey Dunn as grad transfer (SECCountry)
quote:
Auburn football must replace a couple of key pieces on its starting offensive line in 2017, and it has a new experienced addition that will be in mix for playing time.
Auburn announced Wednesday evening that Jacksonville State offensive lineman Casey Dunn has joined the program as a graduate transfer. Dunn was a two-time FCS All-American with the Gamecocks, who is from Trussville, Ala.
An Auburn spokesperson confirmed to SEC Country that Dunn will not participate in the Tigers’ spring practices, which start next week.
Dunn was named a first-team All-American by the AFCA and STATS in 2015, his first as a starting center for Jacksonville State. In 2016, he earned a spot on the Walter Camp All-American first team and the Associated Press first team.
According to the Gadsden Times, Dunn graded out at 90 percent during the 2016 season and did not allow a sack. Jacksonville State, who took Auburn to overtime during the 2015 season, had the most total yards and rushing yards per game in the Ohio Valley Conference last year.
Dunn is eligible to play immediately at Auburn as a graduate transfer. He has two siblings who currently attend Auburn. Dunn graduated from Jacksonville State with a degree in applied manufacturing engineering in December.
Auburn returns starting center Austin Golson in 2017. However, Golson started the 2016 season out as a left tackle, and he has the ability to play multiple positions up front for the Tigers.
Offensive line coach Herb Hand likes versatility up front, so Auburn might shake some spots up in the quest to replace left guard Alex Kozan and right tackle Robert Leff.
