Auburn signee ready to tackle job security of coach Gus Malzahn (AL.com)
quote:

Jackson-Olin linebacker T.D. Moultry is ready to get to work for Auburn football coach Gus Malzahn. Ready to show college football just how good Auburn football can be - will be. Ready to tackle the reset button on the SEC's totem pole of superiority. To set a staggering tone of tenacity as a true freshman linebacker. Watch out Nick Saban...

That should be more than enough to improve the job security of his head coach.

Not that Moultry, the former Jackson-Olin football playmaker, needs motivation; still, he understands how important his success this fall ties to the tenure of Malzahn, who is coming off an 8-5 season at Auburn.

"I want to protect my coach's job," said Moultry, who on Wednesday morning signed a National Letter of Intent with the Tigers. "The coach staff's jobs. The guys that recruited me, I want them there."

Tyrone Truesdell gives Auburn a big body on defensive line (AL.com)
quote:

How he fits into Auburn's plans: Truesdell is a massive defensive tackle Auburn targeted down the stretch of the recruiting process. He needs to improve his speed and polish his technique, but is an intriguing prospect who could be molded into a force in the middle of the line.

Projection for 2017: Defensive coordinator Kevin Steele likes to rotate frequently on his defensive line to keep the players fresh. Truesdell will have plenty of competition when he arrives for fall camp, so a redshirt might be the best course of action for his freshman season.

If Muschamp wanted that S, then he is good in my book.

Moultry may be my favorite player of all time and he hasnt even gotten to campus yet.

He saying he wants to protect their jobs should tell you what is being said on the recruiting trail.

Idk Tyrone Truesdall's weight when he did SPARQ testing, but he did pretty well for a HS guy 330lb. All the "best" listed were from guys ~280 and below

ESPN's Offical SPARQ Test Results
40 - 5.07s (Best DT 4.90s)
20yd Shuttle - 4.78s (Best DT 4.27)
Vert - 28.3 (Best 33.6)

id be curious if he will go the same route as Gabe Wright with dropping a bunch of weight the first year and then having to build it back up?

His recruiting profile indicated that the weight isn't as bad as you'd think for a 330lb guy so I don't think he is going to do a Gabe 330-> 280 drop or anything.

Maybe 330-~305/310?

Yea, looking at pictures of him, there isn't much weight he'd need to lose. Gabe coming in had some decent flab to him. Truesdell looks pretty well built. I'm curious when that espn testing was done too.

He's not really explosive on his tapes, but damn he plays with great pad level and can flat out move people. I think he'll be a gap stuffing NG.

He plays like Dexter McCluster as far as how dangerous he is in space. Kid has all of the talent in the world but is a bit of a head case and a major prima donna.
