All those "big fish" we were still in it for are gone

Hate we did not get this kid.

I think he would have had a chance for much more playing time in the type of offense we run. I do hope his past injuries do not trip him up.

Except we landed our biggest fish in Stidham and still have a bunch of defensive "big fish" out there. Chances are we will land another top 10 class but ya life sucks

Meh, I'm as posibarner as you will find.

I'm so positive I can call myself Negatiger Admiral and still believe this current team will be named NC with a win over OU.

Exactly...

The next time he is right on anything, will be the first.

We have talent all over the field, and will sign depth at many spots we haven't had it.

Not sure exactly what this person is worried about, but it isn't serious.

Every year is a dogfight.

Signing Stidham was equal to a Military Coups!

Sucks that Austin Wiley didn't academically qualify right?

Funny how you always question other poster's accuracy when you have a garbage track record

A coup where the original regime was taken down by the UN and the faction that was our only competition decided they had better things to do

I was being sarcastic referencing this post of yours from a while back.

quote:

4* S CJ Avery
4* S Devon Hunter
4* CB Christopher Henderson
4* LB Tyler Taylor
4* DE Isaiah Buggs
4* DE Ryan Johnson
4* C Cesar Ruiz
4* WR Tarik Black
4* WR Henry Riggs
4* WR Brandon Martin
We are in top groups for all those guys.

I know you were and we were in those final groups. The Avery miss is really only one that took me by surprise. Still in the top group for plenty out there as well. Like I said will be a top 10 class which I am sure will be upsetting for you

Next Generation: Auburn LB Chandler Wooten doesn’t care where you rank him or play him (SECCountry)
quote:

He also has two huge endorsements from coaches, including a major one from an SEC assistant.

“Y’all can do what you want with those stars,” Shane Queen, head coach of North Cobb (Ga.) High School, told SEC Country. “But I had an SEC linebacker coach tell me that he was the best linebacker he saw in the country. … I would put him against anybody I’ve coached in the last 23 years.”

While other prospects can get caught up in recruiting rankings or what role they’ll play at the next level, Wooten is different. He’s humble but confident after an up-and-down recruiting process that included accolades that heavily outweigh his ratings and a surprising “180” from a school he wanted to attend.

He’s just ready for his chance to break out for the Tigers, whenever and wherever it comes.

“Wherever they want to play me, that’s where I’ll be,” Wooten said. “It’s not really a big deal to me.”

quote:

At one point in the process, Wooten thought he knew where he was going. A certain school — Wooten won’t say which one — looked like his destination.

But right before his commitment, everything changed.

“I was ready to commit to a different school, but they just completely 180ed on me,” Wooten said. “It definitely opened up my eyes to a lot of different things. That’s probably the craziest thing that happened to me.”

According to Kelvin Wooten, the turnaround from the particular program was a wake-up call. His son learned firsthand what the recruiting game was really like after that — and he turned it into a positive.

“It made him slow down his process a little bit more and kind of get more engaged with the different coaches,” Kelvin Wooten said. “He wanted to know what they were looking for more, and he wanted to know how he could make an impact for them. I think it made him open his eyes more.”

quote:

Wooten had motivation to keep pushing from his current coaches and his future ones.

He said whenever Williams talked to him during his senior season, he got a sneak peek of the coaching he would get at Auburn.

“He always saw more in me,” Wooten said. “Every time he saw one of my tapes, he’d tell me, ‘I know you have more inside of you. I want to see you bring it next week.’ Every time he watched me play, he pointed out what I did right and what I did wrong, as if I was already at Auburn. He always wanted me to do more.”

Reranking the five-star recruits from 2016 class (247)
quote:

8. Marlon Davidson, DE, Auburn (59) – The first guy on this list that we didn't have as a five-star, Davidson proved in his first year that he's a force. His 35 tackles, 2.5 sacks and 6 tackles for loss only hint at the impact he had on a game-by-game basis.

quote:

21. Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn (6) – Overshadowed by Davidson and playing behind some future NFL draft picks, this year wasn't Brown's time to shine but he still flashed a lot of ability. He should develop into a force.

I think that was Ohio State, IIRC.
