I said it in the another thread the other day, but I'll say it again ... UT recruiting at a high level is bad for auburn, as much as any other program, including bama. Some auburn fans think a strong ut is good bc it hurts bama... that's bullshite IMO.
In all likelihood butch jones is a fraud... But the dude can recruit his arse off, no doubt.

Its bullshite because Alabama can go all over the country and pull elite kids, which completely nullifies Tennessee's recruiting. Tennessee is doing major damage in Georgia...guess who that hurts primarily? Us. Alabama doesn't rely on Georgia kids like we do.

It hurts because we have artificially narrowed our recruiting base since Tubs left. Why can't we pull recruits from the state of Mississippi anymore? We also don't have a strong presence in Florida either, but that could change with Boom and TRob.

Yeah, what we really need is to go back and start recruiting like Tubs did!
Maybe we could finally make it to a championship game if we did!

AU just pulled the #1 recruit (depending on service), the #2 fullback, the #8 OLB, the #8 overall pro-style QB last year, currently have the #1 overall WR committed, and lead for the #7 overall WR, all of them from FL.
But you're right, our presence in FL is pretty terrible.

You're right, we are killing it with that 8% of our signing class.

Considering the quality of recruit AU is going to FL and getting, I agree.
ETA: You're like my wife on the rag, except your vag bleeds 24/7. It's like you go out of your way to try and find something negative to dwell on even when there's nothing negative there. There are legitimate gripes to have, but more times than not the ones you have are totally unfounded.

I would have taken Hamm, but I will go with trusting the staff up, and until we have a terrible class.
I'm guessing that they know what their needs are, and that they will fill them. They have been successful thus far.
I heard he was not a take due to his second toe being longer than his big toe. Keef posted that Grimes likes toes to be proportioned.

We do when there is a recruit in Miss that we want. Freeze is a good recruiter so he will get a good bit in state and Mullen is doing a solid job on the field so he will pick up some too, the pool is small to start with and we still get a top guy from there every year or so.
Florida is a huge pool of recruits and so is Georgia so those need to be our focus with in state kids being top priority.

That is your opinion that i was being " negative." Which has nothing to do with my original point. Maybe youalready have any opinion on my so that skews your view on my post.
Also i used the qualifier "strong" in my post. You can believe that 8% of a recruiting is strong, i do not.
Lastly never ever compare me to your fat ugly wife ever again.
Have a nice evening.

Nice, you're rustled.
But yes, I think getting close to 10% of your class comprised of the top 10% of recruits in the nation, from a state every other school in the nation is recruiting hard, constitutes a strong presence.

GTFO.
Tubs gave us one of our most sustained runs of success in program history and 2004 is as good as anything any Auburn coach has done, ever.

Oh joy!
We sure were moving in the "sustained run of success" direction right there at the end!

Sure, 2004 was great, but after that, not so much. Desperation was showing towards the end, it was time for a change. I think a lot of AU fans glorify Tubs because he was beating Bama. But at the end of the day he won 1 SEC championship.

I didn't even dig that deep into it, I was just going off the first that came to mind. He's a hopeless pessimist that likes to bitch and moan. Thanks for the boom post.
